99.1 FM

Wanted to know when did k-bible go off the air and become KGGI. It's been KGGI for the past 41 years.

99.1 FM aired a religious format from its sign-on in 1965 to 1979 with the call letters KBBL ("K-Bible"). The original chief engineer, who signed KGGI on the air, was Lee McGowan. Upon its sale from C. Edwin Goad to Lyncoln and Sylvia Dellar in 1979, KBBL became KGGI. The original airstaff included program director Brian White, along with Bob West, Lisa Giles, Dan Harrison, Cliff Roberts, and Benny Martinez, while Jerry Clifton crafted the station's original format. When the acquisition closed, KGGI flipped to Top 40 (CHR)

I know KGGI currently has an overall share of a 3.0 it's lukewarm. I wonder how K-bibles share was

Riverside was an interesting market for Arbitron. It was originally measured once a year from 1969-1975 as "San Bernardino/Riverside". The market was then abandoned, save for some custom client reports, until ratings resumed for "Riverside/San Bernardino" in 1980.

During the 1969-75 span, KBBL showed up 3 out of 6 surveys, once with a 0.4, once with a 0.9, and once with a 2.7, which appears to be an anomaly. (You think the ratings wobbles are bad now... it's nothing compared to the initial few years of Arbitron!)
