KLO 1430 Ogden UT

Another one bites the dust. In another thread, I wrote about kXOL on 1660. A number of years after that, I discovered oldies on a station using the KDYL calls on 1060. That one also died, IIRC. And now this.

I suspect that KLO's owner may have sold in order to replace his FM transmitter. Too bad, since I kinda liked tuning in on the AM.
KXOL's previous owner died of COVID recently. He had some health issues in the past, including the time of the KXOL issues. Last March, the earthquake took out his 1550 tower.
The 1060 station, IIRC, has been sold. It's got a nice transmitter site, but needs a new rig. I think it would be a nice time to try full-digital on that frequency, at least part time. Might work well at night.
I have a piece of hardware from their old towers in Kearns, which was torn down to build a park. Used to be KRSP.

1550 has been sold.. vie seen nowhere that 1060 has been sold.. The estate of the now dead 1550 owner shouldve donated it to relevant radio for their spanish network (since 1010 and 1550 are/were diplexed)

Quite a discussion of 1550 on Face Book Utah Radio Chat that the 1550 sale is still being wrangled over in the courts.
Morgan Skinner's not giving up.

There's a thread on one of the local boards, talking about KDYL, from last month. The link now goes to a blank form.
The FCC site now shows a filing has been accepted. Seems like not much info yet. It's all kinda vague.

The battle is still on going. KMRI went back to the original owner Barry Wood and Morgan Skinner was the GM appointed by the former owner who died of covid in July. It recently was thrown in to a third party bankruptcy estate and then removed but the battle is far from over.

I just looked up the correspondence file on the FCC site for KMRI AM. Looks like another recent court action is pending. This is typical Morgan Skinner. I feel the pain of the KMRI owner on this one. Sadly Skinner illegally accessed my FCC FRN account and stole 5 FM translators in 2013. Still to this date I've never been paid one cent for them. He did the same thing to Gus Bowman on 105.1 FM in Twin Falls ID and Perry Holmes with KTIM LP in St George UT. Although Holmes got KTIM back Bowman and I were out. During my battle he spent so much fighting me he and his wife Lorna lost their home in St George. Even though he had not paid one cent for 5 translators, we were still willing to settle with him to drop his multiple lawsuits. Everytime we agreed on a settlement and went to court he or his lawyer John Barlow changed their minds last minute. For example we made an agreement in Utah to settle but then my lawyer found where he filed 2 new lawsuits in Texas the week before.

Skinner is now deeply involved in WYTH AM in Madison GA which is 45 mins from Atlanta GA They just received an STA to operate on reduced power from a wire at the transmitter site. I've asked several people who have said it is not on air for over a year now. They recently filed for a sale to Agape media for 7k cash. Sounded low to me but it was dismissed. I wonder if the owner knows about the transfer because the contract wasn't signed.
