I had the exact same reaction to the name, having been a longtime iNews user where I worked. Not so many years ago iNews was one of two NRCS systems commonly found in newsrooms, the other being ENPS...it was pretty much one or the other, sort of like Windows and Mac. Now there are a number of other NRCS systems out there, such as Dalet, Octopus, Inception, amongst other recent entrants.
I too remember the BASYS days and the green screen dumb terminals back in the 1980's. A huge and welcome improvement over doing things on IBM Selectrics and old teletype machines for wire services!
I've also used ENPS, but preferred iNews as I found ENPS rather clunky at the time...but everyone has their favorite, probably depending on "what you're used to."
