Dawn Wells Died From Covid

Ginger for looks, but Mary Ann for personality.

I really hope we're through losing celebrities to this disease.

And that soon the vaccine will mean we're not losing anyone.

In the opening theme song of Gilligan's Island's first season, she and the Professor (Russell Johnson) were considered "the rest" and were listed as co-stars in the closing credits. Thereafter, the theme's lyrics included "the Professor and Mary Ann," but the two actors were listed under the heading of "with."

A Nevada girl, attended and/or graduated from U of Washington, lived her later years in the small town of Driggs, Idaho near Jackson Hole. A total sitcom icon through and through! I think most males born from 1956 to 1966 had a crush on her.

Is there a tropical island up in Heaven? If so, Dawn made it to that island and Gilligan & the Skipper are crying tears of joy for her. May Dawn forever RIP!

Soon? You mean a year, plus 30% of society that are Anti-Vaccer's?
Not to mention the states making up rules as they go (I'm 65 and could get vaccinated right now if I were in Florida, but Connecticut has me waiting in line behind the 75+ crowd.) and foot-dragging on vaccinations. At the current pace, it will take 10 years to get everyone vaccinated.

If the Professor were still here, I believe he could have saved her.
I miss them all.

I hadn't heard about this. A library I went to today doesn't currently allow people to see recent newspapers but I was able to look at some older ones, and unlike most of the newspapers I look at, this one doesn't have the actual newspapers as they appear online.

If this was in any of the obituaries I saw, I obviously didn't read it carefully, but Tina Louise said:

Dawn was a very wonderful person. I want people to remember her as someone who always had a smile on her face. Nothing is more important than family and she was family. She will always be remembered.”
