2021 Predictions

Wheel of Fortune has never had a primetime special. I'm not sure why. You could fit two games in 60 minutes. TPIR and even Jeopardy! did (w/ Super Jeopardy). The primetime special could also have bigger prizes and a bonus wheel where the top prize is higher than $100,000 w/o the million-dollar wedge.

Good news! There's one on ABC next week, "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune".

Has Wheel ever had a celebrity edition before?
They sometimes did special celebrity weeks on the syndicated version, but they haven't since 2007. And since 2001, they always had celebs teamed with regular contestants because, according to Pat, celebs had a hard time understanding the game. One famous episode in 1994 had James Brown and Little Richard playing as a team together against Lee Greenwood and Weird Al Yankovic, who both played solo. Al later said that it was because James Brown just couldn't understand how the game works, so they let him team up with someone who (sort of) did.

The last time celebs played solo was in November 2000 on a Halloween special, where Richard Simmons, Tara Lipinski, and Alex Trebek all played in Halloween costumes and their identities were not revealed until the end.

I know we're a few days into 2021, but one other prediction:

The NCAA announcing that the Men's and Women's Final Fours will soon be played in one city instead of two; for example:

New Orleans: Mercedes-Benz Superdome (Men's) and Smoothie King Center (Women's)
Atlanta: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (M) and State Farm Arena (W)
Los Angeles: SoFi Stadium (M) and Staples Center (W)
Dallas: AT&T Stadium (M) and American Airlines Center (W)
Chicago: United Center (M) and Allstate Arena (W)
And so on...

Probably won't be able to admit fans in L.A. or Chicago unless COVID numbers are way down by March. I'd give the edge to New Orleans or Dallas.

The NFL will NFC East Teams to AFC and AFC West Teams to NFC.

This is nearly gibberish -- missing a verb after "will" -- but I think I know what you're trying to say: The NFL will swap the NFC East and AFC West. To which I say: What are you smoking? That would leave the AFC with no West Coast presence, in fact no teams west of the Central time zone. Even if the owners were to suddenly lose their collective minds, TV would veto this hare-brained move immediately.

I'm confident CBS wouldn't veto it, given the historic fan support which the Cowboys, Giants, Eagles and Football Team have had. But Fox surely would throw a fit.

At one time Weird Al did the song I Lost on Jeopardy, and it sounds like he could have done a song about being on Wheel as well. :)

I predict Ken Jennings will not be the final Jeopardy! host. His debut won't audience test well, so Sony Entertainment will move on to auditioning other hosts.

Weird Al "kinda did" a song about Wheel before, his original "Stuck in the Closet with Vanna White" from his 1988 Even Worse album:

Shortly before Even Worse, another parody artist, Dr. Dave, recorded a parody (in the style of Cheech and Chong) of the Box Tops' "The Letter": "Vanna, Pick Me a Letter":

All sources I've seen on that song say it was released in 1987 but I remember hearing it on the radio in late summer/early fall '86. During the peak of syndicated Wheel's early popularity and Vanna-mania.

Dallas is located in Texas so is Houston. Also KC/Denver are in AFC West but located closer to Dallas/Houston. Also Miami isn't close to other AFC East Teams but closer to NFC South Teams minus Panthers same with Jacksonville because Colts/Titans would be better in a division with Lions,Browns and Bengals. But no Leagues are going to be geographical.

The Indians will hirer Chris Rose or a Game Show will..
