I don't check out AM that much, but overnight (around 1:30-2am) I had ESPN Radio on 910 fairly strong. Also had country on 880 (likely CKLQ). This is from Manistee, MI
CKLQ is a good guess. They're fairly common here in the Chicago area. Usually under WCBS, but sometimes overtaking it.

Good reception on the Iceland SDR Saturday night/Sunday morning about 0545UTC. WEGP from Maine on 1390 quite strong.
WBBR strong, no surprise there. WBBM was in very well on the Iceland and the Key West SDR. WGN also on Key West, but not Iceland with a strong BBC station overtaking it. WBZ heard on both receivers. A bit of a surprise on the Arctic receiver as I heard WBBR on 1130 with KTLK in the background. KBRW in as usual on the Arctic.
Good stuff! I've never heard WGN on the Arctic SDR, so congratulations on snagging it. It seems as though 720....which is common to both Europe and the Americas....is a busy frequency across the pond. BBC Radio 4 broadcasts in London, but IIRC, it's only 1kw. I wouldn't be surprised, however if they have additional sticks on 720. That wouldn't be unusual.

And @TV nut. Congratulations on some nice catches. Yep....sometimes it does pay to wake up early!

I've had WGN on the Arctic SDR two days ago at 1 o'clock in the morning. WBBM was also in at the same time and with better signal. Yes 720 is busy in Europe since it's a common frequency with Americas. Usually it's dominated by Romania or BBC4. Also KOTZ Alaska is more common than WGN.

Getting CHAB Moose Jaw, SK with classic rock on 800 kHz. No sign of CKLW or TWR.

Yesterday on the Edinburgh IN Sdr I logged one of the WQBR256 translators in Lake County, IL with road reports for US 41 around 11:30am, and WRCI, Three Rivers Michigan at noon into CBS News.

Today, about 3:30 PM EST near the Straits of Mackinac, I heard an UNID on 820 with some type of Urban Talk or Religious Talk. It didn't seem to be WCPT, as all the 50 kW Chicago AMs including WBBM and WLS, could not be heard much above the sensitivity threshold. It didn't seem to fit the CHAM, WNYC, or WMTT Horseheads formats. But WBBR 1130 was fair, and WBAL 1090 was fair.

Searching around, 820 might have been WVSG Columbus, OH, but the format still doesn't quite match up.

Houston local KEYH 850 has gone silent (as of 11:55pm on 12/31), possibly permanently. They were a pest for me, making 850 difficult and slopping over to 840 and 850. So far, with them gone, new ones for me are KTIC on 840, WXJC and KFUO on 850, and XEUN on 860.

While it's sad to see stations go silent, it's fun to have new frequencies to try.

Thanks for the heads-up on KEYH going silent. A few nights ago I checked out the frequency for the first time in quite a while and logged a very weak Radio Reloj from Nueva Gerona, which is a new station for me. Also, it looks like XEMIA in Tlaquepaque has been retired from 850 as well.

I tried 800 to see if I could get CHAB, but instead I got the similar sounding call letters CJAD in Montreal, a first for me.
I also tried 800 for CHAB yesterday (Thursday 1/7) a couple of hours before sunrise. I did hear classic rock, very weak. I was unable ot catch an ID, so I don't know what it was. My best guess is CHAB, but the last time and every previous time I've heard it it's been more traditional oldies. Which was also the case several years ago when I drove through Regina on the Trans-Canada highway. But times change, so they may have updated their format.

BTW....Nice catch witth CJAD. I've only heard them once or twice at my location. They don't send much juice west or southwest. They're not only protecting CKLW, but also 10kw CJBQ in Belleville, ON....if only on a de facto basis. (Belleville is located roughly midway between Toronto and Montreal. Handy place for me to spend the night when travelling between the two cities on biz trips. Nice town.)

When I heard CHAB few days ago I matched it with their web stream. Eventually I heard an ID as well on the air. That day was a good opening to Saskachewan and Alberta as I heard several other stations from those states.

Good catch on CJAD MichaelTheZ. I have yet to hear that one.

You're welcome. I'll have to try for Radio Reloj - that tick-tick is pretty easy to hear through interference, and Cubans have been relatively strong recently.

Just picked up KDDR 1220 "The Tornado", my first North Dakota station. It lasted about 10 minutes before turning into religious bluegrass music, which turned out to be the more expected WHKW in Cleveland. With KDDR, I have now logged all of the plains states.

First actual session yesterday morning (Friday 1/8 on the new C Crane skywave. Two hours before local sunrise and did not disappoint. Conditions were good to the north and northeast, To wit, a few highlights.....

610: KDAL: Alone. Presumably on day power
680: CJOB: Weak, but on top. The skywave's slectivity really impressed me with digging this out from under WSCR.
710: WDSM: Probably also on day power. Same market as KDAL (Duluth), but 10kw. Alone under WGN splatter
980: CFPL Blowing out WONE, the usual occupant of the channel around here. CFPL has been a very tough catch for me.
1010: CFRB: Unusally strong and alone.
1050: CHUM: On top of semi-local WLIP
1070: CHOK: Was trying for KNX. CHOK used to be common here....but not lately

My favorite time to DX lately is afternoon pre CH and CH. The last few days, WBBR has been in well about 2 hours before LSS in the Straits Area. Today WINS was in. I tried WADO and WWRL, but didn't hear them. I have heard both several times over the years.
