No Sci-Fi, VH1, or Comedy Central for a city of over 100,000 at the time. Or WGN, for WB access. 7th Heaven had just premiered and its family-friendly, Christian plot would have likely gotten viewers in deeply-conservative Abilene.

I spent a lot of time when I was younger visiting family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, which was also served by TCI during this time frame. Sci-Fi, VH1, and Comedy Central weren't carried at the time (they did have WGN).

Another odd thing about Abilene is that they were still carrying KTVT over a year after it flipped to CBS! I'm surprised TCI didn't replace it with KDAF or KTXA (DFW's affiliates of WB and UPN respectively) or WGN (for WB access)
