WBZ-TV Subchannels

Anyone know what's going on with WBZ-TV's subchannels since last night? Since last night, I am receiving Start TV on 4.2 as usual, but the program guide on my TV's (and others have noticed this too) says Decades TV. And Channel 4.3 which was Dabl is gone. I wonder what's happening?

As of 3pm I'm also seeing Decades on the 4.2 display while still receiving StartTV, but I'm still receiving Dabl on 4.3 as usual. Maybe that was down temporarily.

WBZ carried Decades TV at one time on 4.2, but replaced it with StartTV. Dabl was added more recently as 4.3. It is possible that they accidentally switched their encoder back to a previous config, or possibly had to use a backup encoder temporarily.

Is there any possibility of getting Decades TV back on in Boston. It has some great programs especially the weekend binge of old series. Maybe WBZ has another subcarrier to do this.

Seems to be another low budget CBS diginet. Decades and Movies! are notably missing from the Boston market, while included in nearly all of the other large markets. AntennaTV had been also, until picked up by WCRN-LD recently.

Which I can only get very intermittently here in Somerville at best, even with the best amplified indoor Terk antenna I could find. It really doesn't cover the whole market.

Can't find any online schedule or website for this channel. The only info I can find is that it's a new CBS/Viacom channel recycling reruns of some of their old shows. It has also recently appeared as a subchannel of many other CBS TV stations nationwide.

Searches bring up a Christian based TV network with the same name that has no connection, nothing to do with CBS or their stations, that may be defunct.

I called WBZ-TV today about more information on Fave TV and why there are no program schedules for the station on the internet and onscreen on the TV program guide. They called back and said that CBS has not given them any information yet about the channel even though it's been on for about a month.

The online guide Zap2it does include listings for Fave TV on WBZ ch 4.4. You need to enter a Zip code, select "Antenna", then
"Local Over the Air Broadcast". Tonight's schedule consists of "Bar Rescue" and "National Lampoon's Vacation". It does appear CBS is packing this with anything they own or can get very cheaply.

So then why aren’t the cable providers carrying it? Do they plan to? They carry all the other sub channels.
It all depends on what is in the current re-transmission consent agreements with WBZ. If WBZ did not put in a requirement that a future 3rd subchannel be carried, then it probably won't be at this time.
