Not sure if it’s satellite or voicetracked, but its programming appears to be provided by Cumulus.

Todd Chambless has been in radio for decades and is on several Cumulus formats.

Gary Reynolds has also had a good radio career. He was at KRAV and KQMJ in Tulsa and spent several years in St. Louis at WFXB/KFXB 101.1/105.7. He's been in Dallas since ‘92, when he arrived to program KCDU 107.5 only to be fired two weeks later when the station changed formats suddenly. He was quickly picked up by Q102 and programmed Arrow 97.9 after CBS acquired it. I believe he joined the ABC fold when KMEO ”Memories 96.7“ launched and has remained through Citadel and Cumulus.

The ministry listed as the owner has done some things I would never do. For example, they were claiming to own a translator in Dilley carrying KYND, Cypress/Houston "off air" but one look at the map, you see that is impossible even if KQQB 1520 in Stockdale did not exist. An engineer I know was turned down by the FCC for a translator for his AM station because it seems this ministry claimed to be 'translating' his station on one of their translators, albeit without the AM station owner ever being contacted. This ministry agreed to pay ASN (American Spirit Network) to drop it's application for 88.1 in Gonzales but never paid a dime of that $6,000. I know of these personally as I was the GM at KYND, personally knew the engineer and was the Director of ASN at the time to board agreed to release the 88.1 frequency to Tellez. In short, it may or may not be on the air based on my experience with this ministry.

BTurner is replying about the stations owned by the Tellez family... KLIT, KSAG, etc. I had originally started this thread about one of their signals, however decided to change it to something else...

88.1 in Gonzales, thankfully, was sold to somebody else and was on-air last I checked. KCTI-FM® 88.1FM

Sorry about what happened to your engineer friend, this Tellez family sounds like a bad one.

I'm wondering if he replied to the correct thread. The FCC's ownership records show KXXN/KWFB as being owned by Falls Media, which is Dan Balla and David Stewart. As far as I know, they have no ties to the Téllez family.

What happened was, I started to post about a Tellez station, then I realized an address in that post looked to be a residence... To protect whoever lives there's privacy, I changed the post entirely before the allowed time for edits expired.

I was wondering why what had been a topic about a Dilley, Texas station suddenly became a Wichita Falls topic.

As for if an address appears as a residence, if it is listed on a FCC application it is a public document. Quite a few applications have home addresses and phone numbers, especially in the application stage. I know the Tellez address in Laredo that is his office and 'church' but I suspect the 'church' is elsewhere.

LOL back on topic, anyone know how the Wichita Falls 97.5 is doing since their upgrade? I remember before 2012 when they were on 96.3 playing musical chairs with the format.

I dont think it's runnign a westwood one format.. Todd chambless is on the AC format for local radio networks now, he may be on another but i dont know. Gary reynolds left westwood one 5 years ago

SO.. either this site hasnt been updated in awhile, because they arent running westwood one i dont think.... theyre running an lrn format or have contract with these guys individually to do the work. Todd does do freelance VO work

As this thread is about WF radio, how is WF reception of Dallas FMs?

When I lived in WF in the mid-late 80s, I distinctly recall hearing KLUV-98 FM, when it played oldies (a better station then) on my 2nd story apartment FM stereo receiver.

Now, I may have been listening to the station via cable TV. At that time, many cable systems carried distant city FMs. But I soon dropped cable,my memory isn't always accurate.
Funny how I cannot recall hearing KLUV on my car FM, which would've had far better reception.

I ask because driving on I-35 west of Kansas City, I kept a strong signal of 98.1 KC much farther than the radio-locator.com maps indicate.
So was curious if Dallas FMs come in reliably in WF.

Hi!
Yeah, Kansas City's stations have great reception outside of town.

As for 98.7, it's now covered up in Wichita Falls by KZAM, which broadcasts a Regional Mexican format. However during tropo conditions, the Dallas/Fort Worth stations make it up there in Wichita Falls quite well.

As this thread is about WF radio, how is WF reception of Dallas FMs?
Some of the northern DFW rimshots are only around 65 miles from WF, so reception is quite good. However the Cedar Hill sticks are about 130 miles away, so really extreme fringe to nonexistent signals. And the heavy expansion of Docket 80-90 drop-ins as well as translators means that many of those CH signals are now blocked.
