They're basically a pop alternative now. Currents from the alternative chart and not much if any from the active rock chart. The rock songs that I've heard were gold titles that crossed over on the pop or alternative chart 10-25 years ago. I don't know if they're reacting to 105.1, but IMO it's not generally a good idea to react to the competition unless they're kicking your butt, which they're not. They probably don't want to share much audience with their sister station 98.9, while competing with a station that is coming after both of them. Not many markets have two alternative stations, both on blowtorch signals. The X and Alt will beat each other up until one of them is forced to flip. There's only so much rock and alternative listeners to go around, even in Kansas City.
