Sliwa's Mayoral Campaign & WABC

This subject has come up here several times. Once Curtis Sliwa becomes an official candidate, he is legally required to leave his radio show. However, apparently he is now using his radio show to solicit signatures for his campaign petition:

Not sell, but put it into a trust. That's what Bloomberg did when he ran for mayor.
True it's just that some of these people don't understand the difference between ranting on TV and Radio vs. actually making or enforcing effective policies that are good in the long term.

So how soon do you predict Curtis will be back on WABC now that he lost the race? He was certainly very eager to get on the radio during his campaign, even rushing to do a radio interview despite getting hit by a taxi and breaking his arm.

Considering how unpopular he proved to be in the market as revealed by the election results where he lost by an embarrassing 38 points, I expect he'll return to WABC immediately where he'll be the ideal fit for such an unpopular station.

The interesting thing to me is he didn't lose simply because he was a Republican. Other Republicans with other backgrounds somehow managed to win city council races. I think a lot of New Yorkers are just tired of him.

Not to mention that a Republican was elected Borough President of Staten Island.
