WYBC 1340 turns on translator

Wikipedia has 1340 AM being located by the West Haven town line. Come to think of it, I do see maybe three short towers near I-95. On the right heading south. The site I first thought of was above the tunnel on CT Route 15.

105.5 FM is on West Rock. 1340 AM is in West Haven a small fiberglass one piece. Towers visible from I-95 are WAVZ 1300

What I find annoying is that the translator is mainly WSHU which also runs WYBC-AM which already heard from several frequencies already for me when I'm like 10 miles from the translator while other stations with the same programming that I recieved within the New Haven County are WSUF 89.9 from Noyack, NY, 91.1 from Fairfield, CT, W227AJ 93.3 from Northford, CT and sometimes W293BT 106.5 from Ridge, NY. Yeah and they think they still have massive dead spots. When 105.5 came on, it almost eliminated WQGN 105.5 from Groton, CT which had a decent signal but good thing WBMW 106.5 is still stronger than what WSHU is using for 106.5 but helped blocked WPTY 105.3 from Caverton, NY, the only dance format in the region while I have a co-channel interference on that frequency. Too much translators lately in 2020 alone and now already another one in 2021.

ZZZZz youre well outside the coverage area of any of the stations these translators cover up. The world isnt built for Dxers or hobbyists, radio is a business... and few average joes listening to the radio will put up with less than perfect signals.
