DX TEST NEXT SATURDAY 2/27 AT 5 PM EASTERN

1090 WENR in Englewood (Athens), TN, normally classic rock, will run a sunset DX test next Saturday 2/27/21, at 5:00pm ET, 4:00pm CT. (Because the west coast is still in full daylight, WENR's chances are next-to-none out here. Darn.)

This 1 1/2 hour test will have CW IDs, sweeps, sound effects, and legal IDs. No music will play.

Check this IRCA post from Les Rayburn for details on QSL and power output.

Good luck!

THIS TEST IS BACK ON!!

It will now run on 3/14/21, early Sunday morning, from midnight to 3am ET. Keep in mind...the test is not three hours.
Repeat - NOT three hours!
Daylight savings time goes into effect at 2am of course. So the test is 2 hours long, and ends at 3AM, at the start of the new DST.
This gives me a chance to try for this station finally. 1090 has a strong XEPRS and KFNQ underneath on most occasions, but this would be awesome to hear.

I'm sitting on 1090 with the ICF-2010 and a loop perched with it, and just heard a sweep tone under a KAAY preacher. No ID yet, but the game is afoot.

Dunno what you heard, but it wasnt the WENR test, you're a week early

So did anybody hear it?

I managed to hear some of their sweep tones and Morse code on one of the Global Tuners rigs (think it was the one in King's Mountain, NC) but it was getting stomped by a bible-thumper station somewhere else. Nothing on the Knoxville rig. Just noise on the Kiwi SDR down in Newport and Talksport walking on 1090 in Enschede, but then I didn't really expect to hear it that far out anyways.

Bible thumper = KAAY Little Rock.
Not heard here. Good signal on the Edinburgh, Indiana KiwiSDR, but no dice out west. The Might'ier' 1090 in Tijuana was at its 'mightiest' signal on Saturday night. They could be heard pointing straight EAST! KFNQ and KMXA also were there, but no Tennessee or even wanted KAAY.

I did. Sounded like what I heard the week before, only more of it: sweep tones, Morse code, that sort of thing.
