Robert J. Mc Carthy from Buffalo News writes in today's Sunday paper: • Veteran newsman Tony Farina is hosting a new “inside politics” radio

Robert J. Mc Carthy from Buffalo News writes in today's Sunday paper:
• Veteran newsman Tony Farina is hosting a new “inside politics” radio show on WEBR/1440 AM, 6-7 p.m. every Wednesday. An alumnus of the Courier-Express and Channels 2 and 7, Farina has been lining up top guests from the political and government world, and has scheduled former County Executive Joel Giambra (very much involved in this year’s politics) for next Wednesday.
But you’ll want to tune in for his stories spanning 50 years in local journalism. He’s a got a million of them.

Seriously, what made you go from a cab owner to owning a radio station that has no listeners? Might as well open a window and toss your money in the breeze!

First, Bill still owns that cab company. Second, maybe he's doing this because he loves radio-even if the ratings don't show it(and, IMO, are never likely to-not with 'EBR's signal). Third, it might not be THAT expensive for him to run it; I know there was a thread or two on this board about the probable financial outlays for Yuhnke to get WEBR up and running...so go look in the archives.

Hope Farina wears a face mask when he's inside the facility.
