Liddy & Hill

So according to date their website, Austin Hill and Tom Liddy just pasted their one year anniversary of being a nation-wide talk show. Or did they?

I have been listening intermittently over the last few weeks and noticed that they talk more about Phoenix/Arizona issues and give a 602 phone number when they used to have a 1-888 number.

My question is did Liddy & Hill ever appear in different markets? It seems to me they lose the big gamble when they left the comfort of KFYI and tried to go national. Is KKNT competitive with KTAR or KFYI in any way?

Roanoke, VA. On tape (or Audio Vault, whatever). Late evenings. IIRC.

KKNT isn't even competitive with KDUS in any way. They might be down in the AM talk-radio graveyard just above KFNX and KXAM, but just barely. The only stations that I can think of that rate lower are the bible-bangers on 1010, 1280, and 1360, or maybe Gumpdusky's oldies on 1440. I hear even Air America 1480 does slightly better.

They're the 3rd-rate conservative-talker and that's all they'll probably ever be under Salem ownership.
 
Mark Levin replaced them on WFIR/Roanoke some time ago, as they cancelled their Jones/WYD deal very shortly after it started. L&H AFAIK is a local show.
 
Liddy and Hill are painful to listen to.

They spend half the show trying to show everyone how witty they are, except they aren't.

xm is a content provider.

soon, more people will be listening to xm programming via wireless internet in their car or off the cellular device than that of satellite delivery; imo.

Fat chance. Internet into a moving car will never work. Cellphones barely work in a moving car.

I can hardly wait to hear accident scene conversations:

"Gee, officer, I didn't see the red light and slammed into the station wagon full of nuns and orphans on the way to feed the poor becuase I was reconfiguring my browser cache and mistyped the third backslash..."

I just missed Liddy and Hill so I came here to see what is up. This prediction on the future of cellphones made me laugh 14 years later.

That reminds me of a PD I used to work for. He put a memo out saying that he was leaving town for 2 weeks to go camping and started cleaning out his office. As he was carrying his box of stuff to the car someone in sales asked him why he was bringing his Arbitron books on a camping trip.

The memo wishing him well in his future endeavors was passed out about an hour after he drove away.

Related: this was the first time I've ever been to a going away happy hour where the staffer going away wasn't invited.
