A group out of Mt. Pleasant SC has purchased WBRM AM 1250 and it's translator for $125K. Leasing the studio for $1k per month with the option to purchase.
 
I have a family members in Marion, NC....home of the Bigfoot Festival. I remember parking near that station when we were there for it.
 
What happened? That station was the only station in a county of 44K? Did the Spruce Pine station take all the local revenue? I doubt the Ashville stations worked Marion. IIRC the station billed over 100K a year in 1980!

We went to the Bigfoot Festival in Marion a couple of years ago (stepdaughter and one grandson live in Marion). Parked close to WBRC. I remember a station set up at the event, it wasn't them but I don't think it was any of the Asheville stations either.
