Numbers 4/19/21

Cox has four of the top five spots. Moving 95.5 to the city center has really paid off for WSB.

@secondchoice , do the over performing numbers for WPZE pay off with revenue? Also, is Davis doing okay with WLKQ? I assume the numbers include 107.1 and if so, these numbers seem low for so much coverage.

WRDG's ratings are surprisingly bad! They are losing to a bunch of Class A and translator signals. Pitiful.

I honestly thought Urban would perform a lot better on that frequency. The move of Spanish-language programming from 105.3 to 105.7 also has failed to produce better numbers. Combined, 105.3 + 105.7's AQH share is about a full share lower than prior to the format moves.

How long before iHM gives up on Urban for 105.3 and tries something else? I want to say the current format is the worst ratings performer ever for that frequency.

I have an idea - bring back 105-3 The Buzz!

The issue is, nobody even knows 105.3 THE BEAT exists. Afternoons and Nights are local but the station has no street presence at all. Nothing about the station is unique to Atlanta. I’ve seen TV commercials for The Bull and Power but never The Beat. STREETZ 94.5 has really shook the hip hop market.

Trying to figure out revenue from 6+ numbers is impossible. I suspect WPZE has an older audience than the typical a Hip Hop or Rap station. My best guess is they are not a top biller or else someone with a better signal would be going after them but they most likely have some of the +35 demos covered. 102.5 is a Class A (3KW at 468 feet). I believe they could be 6 KW at 300 ft but I would personally take the extra 168 feet antenna height.

I believe Davis does some “local”, non-agency business so it’s hard to tell.

A class A's maximum power has been 25KW at 300 feet. But that certainly does not mean every station on a (formerly) class A frequency can increase to that. Far from it.

WPZE far out achieves in the ratings for the signal it has. And I don't think it could increase height and decrease power if it wanted to. Its antenna is on the tower of the Ben Hill fire department.

I’m sure Radio One combo sells Praise 102.5 and Classix 102.9 with Majic 107.5/97.5

Roddy, you were a little off on the power for a Class A. :)

You are right. Looks like what I described was close to a B1 or C3.
