New translator in SA on 93.7

It looks like KTKR - Ticket 760 AM/IHeartMedia is getting a new signal on 93.7 in San Antonio.

Does anyone know the status of the build-out? They have until June of next year, less than 6 months... They'll have fun with the other 93.7 that is currently emitting loud static. FCCdata.org - powered by REC The staticy 93.7 is currently in it's second CP to move transmitter sites, as they couldn't get a build-out the first time, so they filed again.

The cold weather has apparently knocked the broken 93.7 off the air... Good riddance since they haven't fixed the humming on it since the humming began in 2016! Talk about ghetto...
Anyway IHeartMedia really should take the channel over with their Ticket 760 translator soon... IHeartMedia would fix audio issues ASAP.

Was this translator for KTKR ever on the air? I don't live in SA, but i didn't hear it last time i was in town and i see know mentions of 93.7 on The Ticket's website or socials. Also, the license to cover application stating the station was built out according to the permit and is ready for licensing has not been filed.

It seems 93.7 (broken one) has their volume up too loud, I can also hear it on 94.1 since Energy is off the air. When Enegy comes back though it probably will cover it up.

IHeartMedia has about a month left for this one, until it expires. Any status updates?

The broken thing was off at last check BTW.
That link was for KONO's translator on 92.3 that was canceled. You are asking about this one for KTKR? https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=202304

In any case, i would imagine this will get on the air as it will be decent in the city's center. That said, some of the free translators given to AM stations have not been built out. For example Cumulus' News Talk WFTW in Fort Walton Beach-Destin has very solid ratings and only 131 watts at night on 1260 AM. They sat on their translator CP for three years and it expired last month. I do not understand how that happens.

LOL Ryan you're right. I forgot to copy and paste K229DN's link after posting about the canceled 92.3.

I just sent a message to Ticket 760's Facebook messenger. Maybe they can do something about it.

Know problem, Ryan.

I'm not sure if it takes less than 2 weeks for a good engineer to get a translator on-air from scratch, in case they forgot... They most likely need to get a tower crew to install the new antenna, with a big crane to hoist it up. Or are translator antennas light enough to carry up towers by hand?

Whatever the case is, the translator expires tomorrow. Looks like another CP missing it's deadline. You know it's bad when a big company like IHeartMedia can't get one on in time.

I'll disclaim this by saying I'm not an engineer, but, if a translator is on an existing FM tower, it might not need any new bays. I don’t know all the steps involved in setting up a combiner, but it should be doable without involving a tower crew. I don’t even know for certain if you would need to climb the tower.

Most of those FM translators themselves can be carried easily and aren’t much bigger than a DVR. You’re generally just talking a 250 watt or less solid state transmitter.
