Magic 106.7's "Yacht Rock" weekend

So it turns out this weekend, Magic 106.7 is doing something they have never done before, in fact I don't think any other AC station has either. They're having something called a "yacht rock" weekend, where they're playing a lot of the slower hits of the 70s and 80s. I think this is pretty unique, and I hope they continue to do things like this. Because if you think about it, it's a lot like the music that was played on Magic regularly back in the day, and it's also similar to the music played on Easy 99.1. And it's really weird how I found out about it. I was on a bus, and "Sailing" by Christopher Cross was on, and so I figured it was Easy 99.1 or something like that, but then I looked at the playlist online, and that wasn't playing. Do you think this kind of thing will continue? Because I know that other cities do have soft AC stations now, like Chicago's 93.9 Lite FM, Miami's Easy 93.1, Tampa Bay's 105.5 WDUV...

I was looking at their playlist and noticed they played “Wishing on a Star” by Rose Royce just after noon today.

Brought back memories of Kiss 108 in the Sunny Joe White day’s playing it every Saturday at Noon.

Who, WPLM or Magic? I read here that the former has been doing that for a while now.

The MeTV music network, ‘50s to ‘80s oldies and softer classic hits aired on 1510 WMEX weeknights from 6pm - 5am and weekends beginning at 2pm (at all times when the station doesn’t have live local hosts on) does “MeTV’s Yacht Rock” heard on WMEX Saturday evenings 6-9pm.

Is a syndicated show on am radio still a viable choice for people?

Loving the Yacht Rock Weekend on WMJX. :)

I have no inside information from Entercom/Audacy, but I do hope you're not disappointed and the Yacht Rock continues. We already have enough FM stations in Boston playing today's schlock rock.
