I would be very surprised to see any real improvement for KUBE in these 6+ numbers. Do they perform well in any demographic?KBKS over takes KQMV as they continue to drop. KUBE is still dead.

KUBE is adequate in 18-34.I would be very surprised to see any real improvement for KUBE in these 6+ numbers. Do they perform well in any demographic?
Well hey, if KUBE helps keep the other iheart assets in Seattle afloat, then more power to them. At least we have some information now about why they continue to hang around.KUBE is adequate in 18-34.
iHeart has 5 stations in the top 15 (two of which are not commercial) and KUBE is a complement to KQMV, the #3 commercial station in the market. iHeart has three FMs that have older demos, and needs a complement in 18-34 and this one fills a dual purpose of serving an ethnic audience and complementing Movin 92.5.
In clusters, not every station can and will be at the very top. This one seems to have a solid strategic position, though.
And another example where 6+ ratings aren't indicative of whether a station is successful or not.Well hey, if KUBE helps keep the other iheart assets in Seattle afloat, then more power to them. At least we have some information now about why they continue to hang around.
I guess... KVI still has a lot of local spots as of the last time I tuned into them, earlier this week. No 6+ ratings, but they must be making some money. And another example where 6+ ratings aren't indicative of whether a station is successful or not.
Again, 6+. You will never see what their in-demo numbers look like. And don't forget, ratings don't directly equate to revenue or cashflow. Revenue or BCF is the engine that drives a station. The thing that's interesting to me is the HD stations that showed up. KNKX gets a 0.2, and KSWD gets a 0.1, the first time that's happened.
they don't subscribe so would not appear with or without 6+ numbersNo 6+ ratings, but they must be making some money.
This is quite true, but isn't it at least worth a mention that these things actually appeared?Again, 6+. You will never see what their in-demo numbers look like. And don't forget, ratings don't directly equate to revenue or cashflow. Revenue or BCF is the engine that drives a station.
Not really, certainly none as any indicator. Stations that show up at all seem to get at least a .1 just as a participation prize from Nielsen. This is quite true, but isn't it at least worth a mention that these things actually appeared?
Yes, if a group owner is subscribed, just a single PPM incident gets you a consolation prize. Not so for non-subscribers.Not really, certainly none as any indicator. Stations that show up at all seem to get at least a .1 just as a participation prize from Nielsen.
I know. But the last time they subscribed they were really low in the 6+, like a 1.0 or a .5 or something. Yet they still have advertisers.they don't subscribe so would not appear with or without 6+ numbers

What you say is absolutely true. To me though, that's the only thing of interest in this book, and on this board, we do tend to point out the nuances of the ratings that don't matter one bit to the stations we're talking about. Now, if KSWD-HD2 went #1 in the market, that would be a real story, but I don't see that happening. Not really, certainly none as any indicator. If a station gets 0.1 then one person with a meter was listening. If it got 0.2 then there might actually be a small audience! The thing that's interesting to me is the HD stations that showed up. KNKX gets a 0.2, and KSWD gets a 0.1, the first time that's happened.
If KSWD-HD2 went #1 in the market, Audacy would probably just move it to HD1/Analog and move The Sound to HD2. Of course, it's unlikely considering not everyone has an HD receiver. What you say is absolutely true. 6+ has nothing to do with nuance. Thinking 6+ is any indicator of how profitable a radio station is, would be like making an assumption that just because an HD-sub channel pulls a number in a book, means it could go to number one in demo. Equally silly. What you say is absolutely true.
