Another New Station is coming

Wonder if this would be the relaunch of K296HJ from one of the tall Missouri City sticks? And what would that mean for the current Hum programming on 106.1 and 103.5?

The new 102.5 signal would clobber KMAZ and severely hurt KJFI: K296HJ-FM Radio Station Coverage Map
That coverage map doesn't take into account the directional pattern the translator is supposed to have (I've noticed Radio-Locator doing this on a ton of translators recently).

I don't supposed anyone has noticed the strong signal in NE Houston and Humble all the way to Porter. Dead air on 102.5.

i tuned in 30 minutes ago amd Amazing sounded great. I’ll tune in right now to listen again when I get close to home on 45 North amd Rankin.

Pretty sure that’s the 880 translator. Sometimes I hear dead air and sometimes I hear the translator

I’ve noticed the construction permits for directional translators show up as omni on radio-locator maps for some reason

Guess they’re getting ready. 102.5 is playing LA CALLE at this moment in the Heights. Sounding very good

No sign of KMAZ?
Nope, just LA CALLE and static, when I got closer to Beltway 8 I started hearing the other translator also having LA CALLE on 102.5. But there is a huge delay which makes the signal sound horrible. La La Cacalle alle

Have to wonder if this is K296HJ? Radio-locator.com shows the signal as non-directional out of Missouri City, while fccdata.org has a tight figure eight pattern out of MC aimed WNW-ESE. If K296HJ is what you are hearing in The Heights, they are obviously running non-directional.

The second signal would be KJFI which also runs La Calle. I am too close to KJFI to get a handle on what is going on elsewhere with 102.5.

I'll say the KMAZ-LP streaming is up.
KMAZ's coverage may have just been cut to the immediate downtown area, if not only the roof of the Wells Fargo building. Too bad; when they launched I could hear them all the way to the Beltway along 290 on my car radio. They already had their wings clipped by KJFI 18 months ago, not to mention K273AL in the Humble area.

Edit to add: Going back to the OP, I notice the HumFM website only shows 103.5 on its banner, but still has 106.1 on some of its show graphics. Something different on 106.1 now? Will have to check.

HumFM is still on 106.1. But I did notice yesterday they were weaker than usual. Probably just a coincidence, but it was a breath of fresh air to be able to listen to DX a weak KIOC for once inside the loop.

That used to be a more frequent occurrence before all the interference began in Houston.

Most likely they will all be HUM FM.
