FCC approves KPNX move from RF 12 to RF 18

The 12.12 is the old VHF facility. They did the same thing with 8-8 in Portland which got converted this week.
According to a post elsewhere 12.12 is coming off RF12 still whereas the rest of 12.X are off RF18
A bit of interesting information: K18DD-D atop Mingus Mtn is continuing

Neither K18DD nor K18NN (Globe) have any applications on file to move. K18NN-D is a redundant facility, at least per RabbitEars — it's the KFPH translator for Globe. (Weirdly, Globe has never had KNXV show up...)

I've always been a fan of VHF television. I grew up with VHF when UHF was considered
inferior. Having lived in Northern Arizona now for over 25 years, today with a severe thunderstorm
in progress I'm eating my words. KOAI/KNAZ on Rf 2 was always a problem to receive
in Prescott and Prescott Valley. KNAZ translator atop Mingus Mtn on Rf 6 helped the area a bit
but during electrical storms the viewing was unbearable. The Rf 6 translator received the signal
on Rf 12 from South Mtn and broadcast/relayed the signal to Rf 22. The electrical storm on
June 30th and again today showed the amazing differences between VHF and UHF. K06AE
atop Mingus, now receives the KPNX signal from some other method because Rf 18 remains
in use on Mingus, blocking the KPNX south mtn signal. The two edge signal on Rf 22, 60 miles
away was flawless today. The LOS signal on Rf 6, atop Mingus remained viewable despite the
numerous lightning strikes between my antennas and the translator. I'm certain others in the
region will also be pleased to be able to receive KNAZ/KPNX with greater reliability......

Just rescanned a few minutes ago (I was out of town until tonight). 12 comes in great, and 15 seems to be back to normal (so far). Still nothing on 10, other than UHF 10.2, and 8 is barely perceptible. Both stations need to take the hint, and get off of VHF. Let the low power stations have the VHF channels.
I seem to remember you live a few miles to the NE of my location at Warner/McClintock in Fashionable South Tempe but over the past few weeks I have noticed: 12.1 through 12.x (UHF) now pixel-free as is 12.12 most of the time (inside combo UHF/VHF antenna pointed west). When punching in '10' I arrived automatically on 10.2 (VHF if I remember correctly) and that is also pixel-free (same antenna). I used to have a major problem with 7 and 8 but 8 is good now and 7 is usually semi-watchable.
I used to live near you, in Ahwatukee for 17 years, but have been near the 202 and Recker since 2015. None of the Class A/LPTVs are viewable out here, and 10.2 airs via KUTP on Channel 26. The high ground (elevation 1500 feet) doesn't seem to make any difference. At least 12 is viewable now.
I have a similar issue with a Silicon Dust HDHomerun network tuner.
What Freq is 12.1 (UHF) and 12.12 (Old VHF) supposed to be?
It may be that my tuner slotted the new channel into 12.12
Also the station indicated that if you had problems,, email them at
"To help solve any issues you are having viewing our station, please email us at: [email protected]"
That email bounces as "unknown".
The new UHF frequency is channel 18.

I live in Gilbert.
I have a HD Homerun network tuner and I use a Nvidia Shield with either the Google Live Channels or HD app.
When KPNX was on RF channel 12, it was the only channel I had issues with. Big time pixelization. I contacted both HD and Nvidia nd the net was "the HD is reporting errors to the Shield that it can not handle", with no fix.
My hope was the change from 12 to 18 would correct the issue.
With the switch the pixelization continues on 18 and oddly the backup 12.12 (presumably on RF 12) has no pixelization.
