Maybe simulcast KJWL 105.5, where 1430 tower is at off of International and Fowler and areas Nortt East Of Clovis, 105.5 is shadowed.Reading this- does it leave one to think that 1430 is going to just disappear ?

When I said KFIG original 70s AOR stations wouldn't work on KFIG 1430 is because with 95.7 the Fox Covers a lot of that, but they only play like 400 songs, so the new KFIG with a stream in stereo, could do Classic AOR, easy to blue tooth from devise to stereo lol, streaming is saving AM stations I think.
I doubt it. Perhaps they’ll put ESPN on it .Reading this- does it leave one to think that 1430 is going to just disappear ?
That's what I'm assuming. I just thought it odd that it was never mentioned. I surely would not think it would go silent.I doubt it. Perhaps they’ll put ESPN on it .
They ran it that way for years. I think the ESPN format is pretty cheap to run and the do make revenue, at least from the spots they sell during Giants, A's, Niners, Raiders, Sharks, and Lakers games.I say 'COOL!' .....I mean "BOSS!" And what's to become of 1430? ESPN going there? Just a swap of both signals for the other format- and call signs- 1430 becoming KFIG? (both would be going back to former calls)
Will KYNO 940 Be new and improved, you know polished up from what it is right now?
From humble beginnings KYNO will be a "mega" station now that they are moving to 940. It can be heard up and down the West Coast at night, along with 1530 from Sacramento and 1560 from Bakersfield. These are the only Central Valley Stations authorized for night-time skywave service.
But certain of the AMs that operate on clear channel frequencies have protected night skywave contours. Two of the three mentioned do; 940 is a class B and may not have night protection. They arent authorized for night time skywave service..no such authorization exists every station has that to some extent, 940 just has more potential for it
Wow, KYNO is our history in Fresno and that's like well wtfWill KYNO 940 Be new and improved, you know polished up from what it is right now?
EXACTLY! Seems like people who remember KYNO love it. I'm only 40 so I miss KFSO for my oldies, some of the songs on KYNO just don't do it for me. You can't please everyone all of the time, I don't see any changes coming except for the frequency.Wow, KYNO is our history in Fresno and that's like well wtf
You're right, 940 probably does not have skywave protection. Never the less, that station allowed folks to listen to the Giants games in certain areas where KNBR was subject to adjacent channel interference. But certain of the AMs that operate on clear channel frequencies have protected night skywave contours. HA! Fat chance! I'd say the deep pockets of iHeart put up the highest bid and the bozos at FSU having no clue who they're dealing with went for it. They really would've been wiser to stay with JO even at less $.Do the Dogs have any pull with iHeart on what station in Fresno the dogs are on ?
I really like what Mike Preston, Bobby Ocean, Mark McKay, and Johnny Malibu are doing with "Streaming Worldwide" JFRC On the internet. Its been online since 2013.I grew up on KYNO and KMAK. Likely one reason I did get into radio. I give JO credit for the effort but agree, the playlist is becoming too broad. Seems like the 63-67 era is being lost to the pre Boss Radio days. Not sure if I’d every want to return to the days when Love Rollercoaster was on a 90 min rotation, but there’s a ton Beatles that isn’t even in their rotation. Anyone think that Bobby Ocean could make an appearance? That would bring back a few moments in time.
BO does the liners for MOD in Palm Springs. Never thought that he’d make what is essentially an updated Standards station sound so hip. The voice just rocks no matter the format.I really like what Mike Preston, Bobby Ocean, Mark McKay, and Johnny Malibu are doing with "Streaming Worldwide" JFRC On the internet.
