Where is Tim Conway, Jr. now?

Can't they get Brian Whitman to fill in? Mark Thompson has the personality of a rock. Whitman is still a free agent after leaving KRLA was recently on the Adam Corolla podcast and was a riot just like the good ol' 97.1 days. Need those two back together again even if it's just one day a week.

Vacation. On their last show he said they were going to take some time off. And Bellio quickly teased, "Yeah, planned this time."
Is this a planned vacation? He was gone two weeks ago for a planned vacation to Oregon for the 4th of July weekend and the ensuing week. He was back last week, but is gone again this week. I didn’t hear all of last Friday’s show so if he said he was going to be gone on vacation, I must have missed it. Seems like a lot of “vacations” for Tim when, in a typical year, he would only take one week off in the summer to go to Oregon and another week off around the holidays.

I agree. Mark Thompson’s show is WAY more serious than Tim Conway’s show and does not fit his audience. I was trying to listen today and while he has some interesting guests, it’s not really a funny show like Tim Conway Jr. Mark is great when he is with Tim because Tim keeps it light and gives Mark a hard time if he says something too serious. There’s a reason why Mark’s daytime show airs in San Francisco on KGO and not on KFI. Different market, different type of talk station. For what’s it worth, I would prefer Bryan Suits as a fill-in for Tim Conway Jr.

Tim Conway Jr. was back tonight on the air (thank goodness!) with Michael Crozier back today as well, but Sheron Bellio was still gone. Tim said she would be back tomorrow. Hopefully this is the end of the revolving door of hosts and Tim Conway Jr. is back for good!

It's great to hear Tim's interview with Dr. Ray.

"Dr. Ray, you are literally the ONLY person who could persuade me to finally get vaccinated."

Timmy saying that on his show is probably doing a lot of good. I bet another 1,000 listeners will get vaccinated this week simply from that segment. Very down-to-earth and not preachy.

Was "Timmy" forced to change his tune on vaccinations due to corporate pressure? It would not be the first time the Iheart/Clear Channel forced its hosts to bend to the politically correct stance taken by management. Because of that history, you really can't know if Timmy said it because he really believes it or because his job was riding on it.

Trust, once lost, is hard to earn back. I don't trust any KFI host any more.

I would love to know some of the previous forced "flips" of which you speak.

Google "John and Ken" +"Whitney Houston". They were forced to apologize for non-politcally correct speech and made to promise that they would be good little corporate boys from here on out.

What they originally said on the air was real, the forced apology was not. Their experience at the re-education camp has served them very well as they haven't said anything controversial since and they both have kept their very lucrative on-air positions... and now neither of them can be trusted because we now know their opinions must pass corporate vetting.

I don't listen any more because I already have a good idea what iheart believes, and I don't need two afternoon parrots to continually force on to me the the opinions that have already been forced onto them.

And I'm believing the 'original' stance of so many 'conservative talkers' was anti-vac because their job depended upon them being 'the great opposition', 'the defenders of our rights' crapola. That was the message from on high and directed to be the on air stance. Turns out to maintain that stance was beginning to come back to bite them in the butt. Time for an about face.

What was the original controversy that caused Bill Handel's producer to issue a blanket apology at the end of every show? He said something offensive, had to take a week off, then the daily apology started.

Where is this conservative "on high" position you speak of? Who is at the top dictating what conservatives believe? How is this thought carried through down to all of the little people? And oh, BTW, people who have chosen not to get the vaccine are not just conservatives, the refusal rate is about consistent over all political ideologies. Remember, Limousine liberals, generally white upper class females, were the very first to get on the anti-vaxx wagon years ago. How did it all change?

His initials are DJT. Say what he wants or you get banned. Ask Joe Walsh and Michael Medved. Replaced by Sebastian Gorka.
I hear a cuckoo clock. "Cuckoo, Cuckoo". I have never heard of Joe Walsh, but Sebastian Gorka is a far better host the Michael Medved. If Sebastian has replaced him (has he?), it probably has a lot more to with... ratings. You, know, typical radio stuff. I know of no broadcast company that is taking their staffing decisions from DJT.

"Cuckoo, Cuckoo" - there is that clock again!

Ok I get where you’re coming from now. I don’t need to Google anything. I was there for all of the Whitney Houston hoopla. And the Bill Handel Asian Wheaties box. And the traffic report over the Haj. And the Bill Handel “whore” incident. And the Conway Vic The Brick bit. And the Handel show Armenian Genocide situation. You are conflating a compelled apology for the use a phrase etc with a forced change in opinion. Yes, there have been several compelled apologies (and the occasional suspension) for use of certain words and phrases, or jokes that landed as tasteless. There has never been an instance where a host was forced (or even asked) to change their stated position on any issue. You assume some level of meddling by management when there is none. Good lord, the amount of flat out wrong stuff on this forum posted with outsized confidence is breathtaking ( and not in a wow look at that majestic sunset way).

There wasn’t one. The end of show apologies was simply a goof poking fun at the idea that people get offended by almost anything.

Nope. Say what you will about iHeart. They haven't replaced anyone with a liberal. Have they?

Gorka has been there for three years. Terrible ratings, but he keeps "the boss" happy.
