93.3 WFLZ HD 2 & 3 Issue

For the past week 93.3FLZ HD2 and HD3 have been experiencing signal cut offs quite often enough that it has become unlistenable. HD2 is Pride Radio and HD3 is Evolution Radio in Tampa Bay market.
I'm sure IHeart and their crack tech team will be right on the problem asap.

Much to surprise, out of sheer boredom at one point Sunday afternoon; I did the HD Scan and WFLZ 93.3's two stations were active, showing their respective RDS displays and music as well!! Checked again this morning and the HD2 and HD3 were both on and operating as one would expect.

I will check tomorrow to see if something is actually stable.

No it has not been fixed, not even 1 min into the listen it cut out. Both channels, RDS displays work only when the music plays. I'm done with them for a while.

Do different types of HD receivers (i.e. auto vs portable units) process the HD signal differently? The reason I ask, among my HD radios, one a Best Buy Insignia (FM only) and a Sangean AM/FM; on the HD3 the music is out of sync; with one radio being about 15 seconds ahead of the other; on the HD2, the music was in sync on both radios. Also shortly before midnight; I had both the HD2 and HD3 on for 3 or 4 minutes and neither cut out; which doesn't mean that they don't cut out; I may have just caught them at a good time.

So, you complain about it on a radio hobbyist discussion board, yet won't even try to contact the station? What's the 'definition of insanity'?

Hahaha, lol Stations now days a have a built up fortress from listeners, They don't want to hear from them or make it easy to contact them. Its a take it as we dish it out or go away attitude from the corporate giants. Bet bet is to stream your own music from Pandora or Spotify. Less gnashing of teeth that way.

So that would be why stations spend money on perceptual listener research, do music research and pay for radio ratings. All that is intended to find what listeners like and dislike.

And, for the last 18 months, stations have not had on-site staff that could handle listener calls and complaints. We are, of course, still in the middle of a pandemic that changed office behavior and staff size.

Exactly. What a cynical and frankly dumb assumption that stations don't want to hear from listeners. There's this thing called E-mail, where people can check for questions, even while working from home!

Same thing last weekend on 933 HD2 and HD3, I had to leave a phone message saying they were shut-off. Next day they were back on.
