1590 San Jose - testing ???

It looks like 1590 is back or just testing , heard them at 4:15PM ET today 7/27/21 ,they sounded good, except audio wasn't great ,heard on an SDR RX located in San Jose ,listening on the eastcoast ,via the Internet.
There was a "from out of nowhere" KVVN jingle ID ,then back into programming, around 4:15PM ET
1430 "the real KVVN " sounded the same ,audio was not great ,if I am correct 1590 shares 1430 towers now.
1590 was about 10db stronger then 1430 . . . I think 1590 is 6.2 kw ( days ) ,1430 1kw ( days ).
Regarding audio ,all other AM stations in the area sounded good on this SDR.

KLIV is only running 300 Watts.... so A.) youre wrong B.) it couldnt have been stronger than 1430, unless 1430 isnt running full power, which is possible right now

the will eventually finish the diplex and itll be permanent... 5kw night 4 tower for KLIV, which a null to the SW to protect seattle that wasnt there before because they lost grandfathered status by moving

The signal will be good even at low pwoer cuse when KLIV was last on it was usinhg a very short town in engineer Steve Rubin's backlyard

OK , don't think I was wrong. Just telling you what I heard and saw on the signal meter. For example ,right now they are much stronger then 1430 - 2 days in a row.
If you got some inside info on the 300 watts you say they ( 1590 ) are running , they ( 1590 ) are much stronger then 1430 with that 300 watts, maybe it is the RX's location and the stations pattern. Unless like you suggested maybe 1430 is at low power too during the test.
Right now they are testing so who knows how much power and what the pattern is like for both 1430 & 1590 ,right now.

I can tell you what the pattern and power for 1590 is... 300 Watts non directional into one tower. I do have inside info from the engineer.

I got curious and looked at the FCC website, they put in on 6/29/21 a request to put KLIV 1590 back on the air ,temporarily using a single tower at the KVVN 1430 ,4 tower site.
They plan operation off of tower number 4 only for KLIV ,and are requesting 500 watts day & night, naturally non-DA. As you said this might now be 300 watts.
So it looks like what I am hearing is a "just get station back on the air " signal. They still plan to operate off the 4 tower KVVN site full time ( sharing complete site ) with more power day & night in the future.

which is what i said in another post further up

Yes ,you were close in what you said aways up, but the info I found was more detailed and I just wanted to share it. I thought they were testing and had completed the antenna work when I heard them afew days ago ,but like you said . . . nope.
take care,
Al
