NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A conservative talk radio host from Tennessee who had been a vaccine skeptic until he was hospitalized from COVID-19 now says his listeners should get vaccinated.

Phil Valentine’s brother, Mark Valentine, spoke at length on WWTN-FM in Nashville on Thursday about his brother’s condition.

Mark Valentine says his brother is in a critical care unit on supplemental oxygen, but not on a ventilator.

Phil Valentine has had an afternoon talk radio show on the station for years.

Trump also got the entire crash cart thrown at him which we plebes don't get. One of the books indicated he was sicker than we were led to believe.

Not good news. Very few people put on ventilators for COVID survive.

I wish Phil Valentine a full recovery. Even though I have a problem with his spreading misinformation before he got sick, I don’t wish severe COVID on anyone. I also hope he's sincere that he will come back as a pro-vaccine host should he recover.

If the information I saw is outdated, I'm happy to be wrong. I would like to see nothing more than for our hospitals and medical professionals to find better ways to keep people who get this deadly virus alive. I still don't think "you're more likely to live than die" describes particularly good odds, but improvement is improvement, and I'm happy to see that.

Even now......"there's no way that the universally worshipped Donald Trump lost the election! Big rallies during COVID! Truck Parades! Boat parades! What did Biden have? Not even a single wrapped car! So obviously hundreds of thousands of election workers stole the election from Our Lord and Savior Donald Trump!". (I haven't been to even one political rally, does my vote not count? Not everyone wants a tribal leader

Damn but wait aren't most unvaccinated people with COVID-19 live an anti-vax/low vaccination states. Yes some of the anti-vax leaders such as Governors are doing political rallies funded by Del Bigtree, RFK Jr, and the Bollingers the current majority donors to the RNC.

I like how the anti-vaxxers blame Mexico and China for COVID-19 but I remember hearing that if you are travelling from country to country you have to show your updated vaccine records before entering certain countries to prevent the next pandemic. Also the ones I am aware of immigrants are more likely to be vaccinated due to requirements before entering the USA or because they are entering a state with stricter vaccine requirements like California.

Yeah lots of info going around and it makes it hard to keep up. I don't wish death on anybody....A bad rash sure! Hope Phil pulls through and can return to the air in time. BTW GREAT name!

They are very elementary in their thinking. They see a crowd of 3 thousand people and are convinced there's no way he could lose---I mean, look at all those people! lol... The way they hang on his every assertion is disturbing.
 
Latest today from Mark Valentine: Phil is going to be placed on an EKMO machine if a bed can be found and he can be helicoptered in. Cumulus must have some good insurance (or everyone's rates will be going up)

This is the part of this discussion that is hard for some to understand. Finding space in hospitals that have the right treatment isn't always easy. Hospitals in Missouri are near capacity.

If he is being put on an ECMO, it is a very grim situation. It is life support for people having both extreme lung AND heart abnormalities.
