Health talk radio stations

Are there any health talk radio stations left in the US? I tried searching it up but it just gives me regular talk stations.

I know there have been a few stations that carried up to several hours a day (such as 10am to 3pm) of Health-based talk with a mix of about 50% syndicated and local and 50% paid 'informercial' talk shows trying to sound more talk show than infomercial. Of the stations I knew of, there was a strong medical community and facilities willing to kick in a substantial portion of their marketing budget to the station. I have never known of one that was all health talk.

The all health talk format seems to be popular in other countries.

The only one I know of is on SiriusXM, it's called Doctor Radio and aside from their "barker" channel, it's the only programming they seem to offer for free and without a subscription. It's run in conjunction with NYU - they provide the doctors and health experts who host the various programs.

Aside from that, the best you might find are some health talk shows here and there, mostly on smaller-market "full-service" radio stations, or on stations with brokered blocks that have been purchased by a doctor's office or healthcare facility.

I'm surprised it's still being offered free. That started a few days into the COVID pandemic last March, when the programming was wall-to-wall updates and advice. I wonder if the channel has been free to all ever since, or if SXM has been putting it back behind the paywall during lulls in the pandemic. Bringing it back now certainly makes sense.

SiriusXM had a temporary 24/7 Coronavirus channel last year seperate from the regular Dr Radio channel.

That was free and even offered on some AM stations.

An update that it appears SiriusXM has switched off the free access to Dr. Radio which was on I believe channel 110. SiriusXM had started providing that channel free back in December.
