WYRK? Morning host? Now there's something this board can chew on.
I get a kick out from the "requirement" to "...be hungry to win...". Interesting phrasing.
I'd think this to be one of the more coveted job opportunities in WNY, no?
At the risk of getting too nosey, what might be an expected compensation range/package for something like this? Is this type of thing thought to be, say, mid-five figures, mid-six figures... and are there generally any other valued compensation elements... stock or bonuses for example? I realize that it's likely negotiated... but there has to be some general guidance(?).
And, for the record, this is one of the very few radio listens - though admittedly, quite limited - that I do. Though kinda luke-warm on the two co-hosts, Moden seems to be one of those guys that truly found his calling. Hoping that he's not on the way out.

For the morning gig - high five-figures to low six figures if you're the lead, mid-to-upper five figures for the other players.
For the midday gig - probably around mid five figures.
Generally stock options aren't part of the package, but ratings bonuses might be.

She really needs to get over herself. The public doesn't care. First she said Townsquare was preventing her from working in Radio for a year(which is clearly false). Now she says she was offered 1 month of severance pay, but declined to sign a non disclosure agreement. She also told a new employee that the company was toxic. She's no better than the people she's flogging publicly on social media.Whew! WYRK and several by-name station employees/representatives come across as two-faced and quite low.

Buffalo has some Radio folks who never got out of High School...
She is to be believed....respect her right to lash out to people who treated her poorly! The two Morning WYRK knuckleheads that are so-called "personalities" should be dumped for their cruelty. Run music 100% like a jukebox. No one cares about these idiots and their banter. The ratings will be better without them. Or, just switch your radio to WLKK.
I'm sure many people feel they've been "wronged" in the workplace. She has the right to whine and complain, but what does it accomplish? She's not getting her gig back.
Ain't nobody tuning into 107.7. Tumbleweeds and cobwebs over there...
Oh, I dunno, I suspect that it achieves something. Maybe short term. Maybe long term. I'm guessing that many dismissed the beginnings of the so-called "whining & complaining" as something that only friends, close associates, and relatives would hear. But, face it, the position was placed - with little room for interpretation - in widespread circulation... the general distribution sole newspaper in the Buffalo area. The author/columnist is a tenured and strong source for generally reliable media information.
I happen to think the account of the staff separation is highly plausible. Though I have long said that Moden's "pipes" were made for radio, my opinion of him over the last, say, five years has slipped considerably. Though his spoken words have matured, his underlying delivery and tone remains quite immature. I have very little respect for him at this point... and he would not be a reason to tune to 106.5. Banks, or whatever his name is, comes across to me as an stuck-in-junior high school egotistical punk goof-ball wannabe... and someone that has lived in an essentially geo-fenced world but attempts to seem well versed. Townsend, or whatever her name is, came across to me as the (by far) most mature of the three... although still not very well rounded in life experience. I could see where the Moden's/Banks' of the world might feel threatened by someone like Townsend. That is how I saw them... obviously, I can only form my opinion based on their on-air "performances." Townsend's comments appear to somewhat reinforce what I perceived.
I do not discount the past wherein there seems to have been comings-and-goings of Moden's supporting cast. Mule, Mantel, Mussen, Townsend, etc. Though surely the most "vocal", Townsend is not the only one of the departed cast that has not had glowing reviews of the Clay-ster. Sure, there could be many reasons for turnover... one of which could be that Moden is the/a problem co-worker.
As for "The Wolf", my perception is that it is gaining popularity. Clearly, overall, WYRK isn't going anywhere (yet, at least)... but it does indeed now have some level of direct country-ish competition... something that hasn't been in a long time (if ever). [And, as for it's signal coverage, I have had no problem getting 107.7 from Penfield, to Brockport, to Langford, to the Buffalo Waterfront, to Lewiston... 2016 Ford, 2009 Ford, 1974 British Leyland, nothing special radio-wise.]

You just kinda sorta negated your argument because... if in fact "no one cares," then the WYRK morning show numbers will drop and the 107.7 morning show numbers will skyrocket. There's an alternative, the country jukebox at 107.7. Listeners, if they're as outraged as some, will tune it in. If not.... feh! The market place will dictate, as it usually does, independent of our opinions here.
She may very well have a legitimate grievance. So have many others in non Radio jobs. She comes across as small and petty by continuing to slam former co-workers publicly. It's unprofessional. It's a morning show in Buffalo which isn't exactly the "Big Time". Since she won't let it go, is she planning to sue hoping to get her job back? It's absurd...
Are you paying attention? She has another job and a consulting gig. She's said she's done with radio in Buffalo.
As to litigating, I'm not an attorney, but unless a person has a solid, documented case, astute attorneys advise their clients that lawsuits of this nature involve considerable risk. Typically a corporation, as defendant, will petition to have a case such as this moved to another state, usually Delaware, where many companies and corporations are chartered.
Immediately, the plaintiff and his/her attorney are saddled with a challenge: If the case gets moved, the billable hours charged to the plaintiff can become prohibitive that they dissuade a trial, even if the plaintiff's attorneys agree to terms of compensation that preclude excessive retainers or guarantees. Additionally, if a judgment is awarded to a plaintiff, the verdict is often appealed. This then leads to one of two conclusions: the plaintiff drops the case, or the parties settle but terms are not disclosed. The Buffalo News last week reported that a judge vacated a judgment awarded to a former employee who sued WUFO. The story, which may be behind a paywall, is here.
Often, the most damage is created in the court of public opinion, but with time, the damage often wanes. Life's like that.
