Whither WBZ's Ben Parker?

Ben Parker has been the afternoon drive (2:00 - 6:00 pm) anchor on WBZ for well over a year now. But I have not heard him since late June, early July. At first, I naturally assumed "on vacation", but this can't be, because no one I know of gets THIS much vacation.

Does anyone know if he's on medical leave, or if he's left WBZ? I still hear his voice in several station promos.

It must be mentioned that in Ben's absence, Nicole Davis has been doing an outstanding job. (y)(y)(y)

Before it's asked, you will not hear me on the radio for a while. A follow up CT on my aoartic aneurysm, revealed a mass on my left lung. Tomorrow, 7/19, I will have it and some of the lung removed. I can't stress enough, be screened for both AA and Cancer if you are at risk.

Then a few days later:

Good news I wanted to share. I am still trying to process this! I still lost part of my lung and recovery has had some complications but the mass was checked and was benign. An infection that they are trying to figure out what it is/was. But, it was NOT CANCER.

Oh my God, I was hoping his absence wasn’t for anything major, but this certainly fits that category. Thank you, BigA, for posting this, as I’m not on any social media, and never gave a thought to checking thereon.

Someone once commented that Ben had “a nice set of pipes”, so I pray that his on-air delivery with his sonorous resonances isn’t impeded.

And Ben, if you see this, we miss you and look forward to your return soon!
