Here's a few more clips of some of my DX form this past winter. Ive picked these out because .. maybe I liked the song, or its a low power station, its far away.. or something about it i just liked. This represents not even 5 percent of what I heard over the winter, but what I consider my best or most unique loggings. This one is one of my more favorite clips, 5KW from nearly 7200 miles away. A semi regular visitor in mid to late winter.

The signal from Vesti FM is amazing. When I lived in Perth, they were a pretty regular reception around Perth sunrise in the winter (~2200 UTC). This was after BBC Oman signed off and after eastern Australia was in daylight. Signal wasn't as good as your recording though!

It is 500kw, so that helps a bit.

Radio Baltic Waves Int'l on 1386 from Lithuania is a regular catch, and only 75kw

I see they sign off at 0500 Perth time, before I woke up , but might have been doable down there.

Amazing catches from Alaska! Sounds like a DXer’s paradise in the winter.

I didn’t realize that Norway still had AM stations. I just assumed that since they got rid of all of their FM stations that they had already ditched their AM stations as well!

It is.. the extended darkness, being much closer to the north pole then most everyone and being 200 miles away form any nearby AM's makes the difference

Amazing what you were able to hear last season. The Arctic SDR was virtually dead all winter.

When I was in Norway in 2019 there were still a few FM stations around. All the public stations (NRK) were DAB only. In Oslo there were several FM's. When we were up in Tromso and down through Lofoten (above the arctic circle), there was one FM station I could hear. Amazingly, there were 10+ DAB stations audible on the car radio, even in the most remote places.
