WSPA-FM Christmas music

For the second time so far this year, WSPA-FM switched to “countdown to Christmas” on Friday through Labor Day, playing all Christmas music.

I know Audacy hasn’t been making the best decisions nationwide as of late, but have they lost the few marbles they had left? Their AC’s are doing poorly and sound terrible, it’s not just WSPA-FM.

Odd choice for sure. I somewhat get Christmas in July, as it's 1/2 year away from the holiday and some people are pining for it. Also, many stores and malls have "Christmas in July" sales and events, and even the "Music Choice Sounds of the Seasons" channel on Comcast plays Christmas tunes for much of the month...But Labor Day feels different. People are wrapping up their summer and it's all about back to school, the start of football season and maybe one last picnic or gathering. Playing Christmas tunes all weekend seems like a really odd programming choice.
