Parts of this was that Warnermedia was in the process of getting Discovery Inc in the recent deal. TMZ was named as one of the brands to be divested from Warnermedia to Fox.

Let's just hope Fox's parent doesn't decide to keep the tabloid-style of TMZ going, but weaponize it against their political rivals. It's bad enough Trump had the National Enquirer in his back pocket to the point where that particular tabloid would buy the exclusive rights to certain stories, then bury them.
