Ryan Cody Leaves 12 Today

tvspy.com is reporting that Ryan Cody has left 12 News. He was the morning co-anchor. Frankly, he was not top 15 market anchor material. I felt like he needed more anchor practice -- in Yuma -- before even being considered for any anchor position in Phoenix. I'm being a bit harsh, but 12 News management should never have given him that role.

Except for Mark Curtis, the now-retired Bruce Cooper, and a very few others, 12 News comes across like a very small-market operation. It looks especially bad compared to the big-market presentations on the Meredith, Fox, and Scripps stations. With Tegna now for sale, maybe new owners will change that.

I am not familiar with Mr. Cody's work. I hope he is doing okay.
WOW. Hopefully Tegna management looks into these allegations.

I never watched or listened to Channel 12 until the last two days. Tonight's 6pm broadcast was pure amateur hour with the audio between segments jumping from barely audible to uncomfortably loud multiple times.

I have a feeling that the only thing that could save Channel 12 would be if NBC bought them. They already own Channel 39, so it's not like they're strangers to the market.
