Stations Playing Halloween Music?

iHeartRadio is heavily advertising their online-only Halloween music channel. But besides "Monster Mash", "Thriller", and "Spooky" how much is there to play? Are they filling it up with the kiddie music and sound effects from old K-Tel records?
They rely heavily on the Adam’s Family theme song, Halloween movie theme song, I can’t think of the name but also that devil playing the fiddle song.

There's actually a surprising amount of Halloween-themed music, song parodies and novelty music. Like Christmas music and carols, the overall list of Halloween-themed content is a bit limited so even when they throw in a fair amount of mainstream and older Top40 tunes that have words like "ghost", "witch". "spells" or "devil" in the title or chorus, if you listed to it for hours a day it'll become repetitious. But hey, it's only once per year and in my case, when listening to it on Music Choice, they only play Halloween from Oct. 4 (before that it was Octoberfest-themed music on that particular channel) until midnight on Oct. 31 (when they promptly switch to Christmas) and I only listen to it for a few hours per day so for my tastes, it's fine.

Early this morning - 11/1 at 6 a.m., Music Choice Sounds of the Seasons switched off the Halloween sound effects audio track they were airing, switched all the graphics from Halloween to Christmas and started playing Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You". Halloween is officially over for the year, and the Christmas holiday season is upon us!

WXPN had several other Halloween-themed shows over last weekend. The Friday night 80s modern rock/new wave-themed 'Land of the Lost' featured spooky tunes and a more widely-themed 'Halloween Spooktacular' show followed for 3 hours, repeated on Sunday. Even the Saturday overnight ambient music show "Stars End" featured a piece recorded by the program host using 'War Of The Worlds' clips and sequencers. The shows are available from the archives at the XPN website. Good stuff.

They should use the introduction to America's Best Music's version of Barbra Streisand's "Somewhere" on a loop. I don't know who came up with that or why they play it, but it needs to go. No other radio station I've ever heard has played that, and even America's Best Music wasn't doing that long version a few years ago. I don't think.
