KVI Unrated?

The October Nielsen's indicate that KVI is unrated. They haven't been killing it lately, but it's hard to believe they just vanished. So either they no longer subscribe - which is not very likely as you'd assume that Sinclair had a group deal with Nielsen. Anyone have any intel on this?

My bet is they no longer subscribe. They could have opted out in anticipation of the sale.

Yeh...but typically stations do a group deal...so maybe they paid more for KOMO and KPLZ and walked on KVI. The incremental cost must have not been worthwhile.

Maybe due to the minority of conservative voters in Puget Sound vs. inland Northwest markets. Albeit, I find it interesting to see KTTH beating FM music stations once in a while (like last month beating KUBE 93). And they get a bump around midterms and the Presidential elections. But still a minority in listenership vs. KIRO-710 and KOMO-1000.

I think KVI does as well as they do revenue-wise without the ratings, as they still have advertisers, especially on their main shows. And they are part of a cluster, after all, which probably makes a difference.

Part of KTTH's "appeal" is really, conservative listeners have nowhere else to go, aside from KVI, KLFE, or KIRO's Dori Monson afternoon show. And conservative voters still comprise about 20-40% of the vote in the greater Seattle-Tacoma metro (23% in King County, 38% in Snohomish County, 43% in Pierce County).

It used to be a good portion of the revenue came from 'paid programming' masquerading as talk shows over the weekend.
