It's been mentioned three times in this thread. The last I checked, it was listed as "deleted".Isn't there a translator on 104.5 in Portland itself? What's the status on that one?

I wonder why they would do that. It's just going to receive massive interference and they already have a full power station in the same immediate area!I see the license for the K283BL 104.5 Portland, it's Way Media's and filed a resumption of operations that went through last September. https://fccdata.org/?facid=&call=k2...=&lmspl=&party_type=LICEN&latd=&lond=&lang=en
If this is permanent then there is no reason not to reactivate the west hills translator.Someone posted on a regional board (pdxradio.com) that KXXP was forced to downgrade to 500 watts due to US Forest Service requirements at the transmitter site - Mount Defiance. Instead of a C1 it's now a C2.. The posting had a URL for the application:

That's a drop from 4.9kw ERP to 0.5kw ERP... Well, at least the electricity bill won't be so high.
There was never "real" coverage of Portland to begin with. Their 60dbu ends in Gresham.Wow! It's November and the KXXP sale to Bustos Media still has not closed, Man, what a mess! KXXP's104.5 signal has been downgraded to a 500-watt C2. Any suggestions on how to recover that C1 status with coverage into Portland?
