Just read that Sunny 99.1 KODA-FM is now playing Christmas music as well as tons of other iHeartMedia stations.

Way to early. But what ever BobFM has their Christmas channel back up on HD-3.

KODA hasn’t flipped yet, so this is very much fake news. Tuned in earlier to hear them burning another Billy Joel song to a crisp.

There should be a special ring in hell for stations that have Christmas music beginning earlier than December 15.
There’s so many more options now then we used to have when the Christmas formats started:

- Online, a zillion different soft rock options.
- Over the air, there’s KKHH, which is playing basically the same music as Sunny at this point.

ksbj also plays Christmas all season and 105.7 plays more religious Christmas music too.

I think I know why all these stations change to Christmas music so early... It's because they want you in the spirit so you can buy more from their advertisers, then the money will come around to advertising dollars for the Christmas stations, at least some of it.

That’s their hope. Unless of course people select another station not playing Christmas music because they’d rather not listen to it for nearly 2 months. Or just listen to Pandora or Spotify as usual.
