During a trip I have planned for D.C. next summer, I’m looking to do a trip on the Northeast Regional to Boston (a rental is out of the question...have to be a bit frugal), and was hoping to do some scans while traveling.
1. Has anyone tried do any scans while traveling on the corridor? I know it’s electrified along the route, and it may affect reception greatly, particularly AM.
2. Because recording said scan on a moving, loud train would be futile, I’m in the market for a portable radio that can record directly OTA. Any suggestions? (I managed to find a Kaito K29 that can record and store recordings via a thumb drive that is inserted at the top.)
