"Paul Gleiser’s ATW Media is selling 1490 KYZS and 95.7 K239CB Tyler TX to Chuck Conrad’s Chalk Hill Communications for a combined $162,500.
Chalk Hill will pay $100,000 for the AM signal and $62,500 for the translator. Both signals currently operate as Sports “ESPN East Texas“. It will join a group that includes Soft Oldies/Standards “QX-FM” 100.3 KQZX Tatum/97.9 K250AJ Tatum and Classic Rock “All Hit Radio KDOK” 1240 KDOK Kilgore and translators 94.9 K235CV Chalk Hill, 101.9 K270AW Longview, 105.3 K287AJ Kilgore, and 106.1 K291CY Henderson."

Will Chalk Hill keep sports or change the format? I know someone from the company may or may not still be on this board.

No, it will change formats. It will simulcast KDOK, which is Classic Hits, In fact, KDOK was on 1490 at one time. I even have a few bumper stickers!
