Did WSAN Allentown Switch from Podcasts to Oldies?

I just tuned in to the webstream for WSAN 1470. I'm hearing Oldies, beginning with the Four Tops "Reach Out I'll Be There" and Steve Miller "Rock'n Me." The website also changes. You punch in PodcastAM1470.com and it changes to RealOldies1470.com

iHeart may be having second thoughts about creating All-Podcast radio stations. Last month it switched KABQ 1350 Albuquerque from All-Podcasts to Christmas music. This leaves 95.9 WEBG Mina, NY, as iHeart's only All-Podcast station, just outside Erie, PA.

iHeart does have a Podcast channel on the iHeart app and website. So you can get continuous podcasts on line, even if these iHeart radio stations drop the format. And we should note that Sirius XM offers an all CNN Podcast channel and an NPR Podcast channel, known as the Public Radio Exchange.

They are playing 60s and 70s with what sounds like local VT. They seem to promote iHeart’s Real Oldies channel and the webstream more than the station itself, if that’s a clue to where they expect the listeners to be.

I never got the point of a podcast radio station, where most listening is in the car for short spurts. The app can expose listeners to different podcasts based on their interests.

This may be the only current over-the-air Real Oldies Channel affiliate.
