And branding is now "KNX News 97-1 FM". No mention of 1070 AM.
And the first minute of Sunflower by Post Malone Ft. Swae Lee with the Welcome to FM opener just cutting in 🤦Last 4 songs...
Happier - Marshmellow
Can't Feel My Face - The Weekend
Don't Start Now - Dua Lipa
Stay - Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber
Hmmm... Interesting choices.
Sloppy transition...
CBS is also using KCBS for the TV side and TV Streaming on the Paramount+ and CBS News app for TV's as in CBS2 News, CBSN Los Angeles.KCBS FM was already in use in LA. WBBM FM was already in use in Chicago. KYW probably can't use the call letters for their FM as CBS is still using them for the TV station and they are only grandfathered for the AM. They might be able to use KNX FM.
True, but you would think having the LA Dodgers would help with identity here.
"News for a new generation."Sweeper with news history of KNX running at 3pm PT. "KNX in a whole new way."
Kind of like all-sports WFAN New York. The brand is now the FM with no mention of the AM. I suppose the simulcasts will continue indefinitely since there seems to be no other choice but to sell off the AM at pennies on the dollar or just shut it down. A major chain is not going to go leased ethnic or scary fairy tales (religion) 24/7 just to be putting something on medium wave. And branding is now "KNX News 97-1 FM". No mention of 1070 AM.
And checking.....yep, KNX is still on 101.1HD2. 3 spots of the HD Radio Dial![]()
And of course voicetracked.
I'm listening to the stream in Houston. Very weird to hear Audacy inserting local Houston spots in the KNOU stopsets...🤪
I'm getting Sacramento spots in the KNX stream.
...Where it will likely carry on jockless and mostly commercial-free for the 10 people
No mention isn't the same as no audience. We did the same thing when I was at KFBK---took the branding down to News 93.1 after a brief period of mentioning the AM second. That's been a good three or four years now, but probably 40 percent of the audience is still listening on AM. Those are the people that won't move. They either aren't in a good reception area for the FM signal or they're way out of the demo and will listen to AM until they die.Kind of like all-sports WFAN New York. Yeah, I just hit the "listen live" button on the KNX website. Still figured out I'm in Sac.If you are signed up to Audacy and/or iHeartradio etc, you would have to share location details, so the advertising content is targeted to the market you are based in. The same goes for VPN's when you use one. The ads are targeted to the market the server is in.
The station (and wider network) I work for in Australia is about to launch target advertising, because our group shares a lot of listeners in other markets.Yeah, I just hit the "listen live" button on the KNX website. Still figured out I'm in Sac.
No more "Radio." To emphasize the station's multi-platform distribution, that word was removed from the brand.News Radio everywhere right now.
Yeah. KNX was one of the last in California using "NewsRadio". KCBS branded as "All News" back in 2008. KFBK went to News 93.1" five or so years ago.No more "Radio." To emphasize the station's multi-platform distribution, that word was removed from the brand.
Now (no pun intended), it's just "KNX News 97.1."
KNX isn’t a trademarked brand that ViacomCBS is licensing back to Audacy (which is the only reason why WPHI won’t become KYW-FM, it’s a terribly convoluted licensing agreement). Rather, Audacy owns the KNX trademark outright.So...does 97.1 get the KNX-FM call letters or do they just bury KNOU in the legal ID?
I used the direct audio link on the Radio-locator page for KNOU, which gave me the local Houston spots.Yeah, I just hit the "listen live" button on the KNX website. Still figured out I'm in Sac.
