Auction 109 Happenings in Wyoming

The FCC today approved the application of Michael Radio LLC for a new C1 (107,5, 7kw) in the "town" of Atlantic City, Wyoming, a Census-Designated Population of 37 people. This CDP is located in the (already oversaturated) Riverton-Lander market . The FCC had originally designated this permit as a C2 facility for Rawlins.

Even Ted Tucker had to walk away from this market under a consent decree.. Hopefully history won't repeat itself.

Its all part of a chess game.. hell upgrade it and move it somewhere. HE had KYOY licensed to Kimball, NE.. filed for a non comm there under another company, got the CP... moved KYOY, never built the non comm.. hes clever and shifty

Quick update: 88.1 in both Laramie, WY, and Kimball, NE has been approved. Based on what you're saying however, Michael might randomly sweep these CP's under the rug for something "better"? How about 104.3 in Kimball?

Okay... This first one is in Western Nebraska (Dix) but I noticed a "New Nebraska C2" for sale at RadioTVDeals.com . (The actual listing is behind a paywall for "early-alert" subscriber. ) I suspect this is the Auction 109 CP for Dix-Kimball as "ZantennaG1" posted in the previous query.

The second listing sounds like that Atlantic City, Wyoming entry, again behind a paywall. All it publically says is "New Riverton/Lander, Wyoming FM, Class C1".

A few Auction 109 properties are being flipped , especially the ones with tiny "FCC-unjust-enrichment" payouts.

A follow-up now that the paywall has gone away. "KONK" Atlantic City is for sale , well at least the CP. $95K.
" New Riverton/Lander, Wyoming FM, Class C1"

"New FM in the Riverton/Lander, Wyoming market. 107.5 mhz, class C1 with a transmitter site high atop Limestone Mountain. 7KW ERP. Currently a Construction Permit, but will be built out soon and before any proposed sale. No studio provided, but it can be fed from anyplace with the new FCC main studio rules. Internet service available at the transmitter site. Low cost long term tower site rent available. 36K population with the 60 dBu contour. Could be a nice "repeater" station for an existing network. Can be relicensed as a non-commercial station if desired.."

That's the second Michael owned station and that's been flipped or put on sale this past month.

You are so correct. I think that's this New Dix, Nebraska proposed C2 outlet also listed for $95K. The KIMB call letters have been attached to the CP:

"New FM to built soon in Western Nebraska. Class C2 on 104.3 mhz, 26 KW ERP. Currently a CP, but will be built before any proposed sale. Tower located in Kimball, Nebraska. Will be the only local signal in Kimball. This town had a successful AM station in the town for many years (KIMB). Could do well again with an FM station. The station could be engineered to serve Sidney, Nebraska if desired. Low cost, long term tower lease available."

I dont think a station would survive in Kimball.. the AM hadnt been successful in years and what is now KYOY near cheyenne was originally in kimball... moved it out, proposed a 50kw upgrade for 1260 KIMB.. and then it was deleted.

i think the low cost long term tower lease for 104.3 is from a vic Michael owned site.
