Yeah, awesome! 🤘 It helps that billboards for the station have gone up all over the Chicago metro area.
Sports does not do well in the December and Christmas books, generally speaking.
I suspect that WMVP will find a diplex partner site and, if done right, could even improve the signal over the MSA. Depends on how much they want to spend.
It doesn't help that the Bears are having a rough season.
Funny that people keep saying to blow up 95.5 and it’s a failure. They’re a stones throw from B96 and US99, where are the comments that they’re failing and need new formats?
Also: why does 100.3 seem to always do so poorly? Even going back to the 90s that signal has not been able to find a successful format or niche.

WMVP is a Class A/Class I-B facility. It is well protected both Day and Night, and will continue to if it stays a Class A. That's important. Look what happened when WOWO downgraded to Class B. Note that French Language CBEF was moved from 540 to the 10000 watt Class A/Class I-B facility vacated by CBE, which moved to FM and CBEW. This was to keep the protected Class A facility in the hands of the Canadian government rather than sell it to a private entity, like CBL 740 was sold and is privately owned CFZM. CBJ 1580 was sold an moved to Oshawa, ON as 10 kW Class A CKDO.
