Oldies 92~Seven... Ugly
I don't see how, with a 250 watt translator that covers a 10-15 mile radius with a good signal, a station is expected to generate ratings. I pick up the Ancient Modulation rig with its 52 watts on 1440 better than I do 92.7 in NE Mesa. The geezer demos it's trying to attract are on the outskirts of the valley, not in Phoenix south of Northern Ave or so, and Tempe.

Oldies 92.7 is the real WOW station in town - 70's Saturday morning that makes up for 94.5 booting off AT40 best-of's. I think the stark difference between weekday/weekend programming is a variable as it *does* sound like entirely different stations depending upon what day it is. (Don't boomers like to hear a DJ in between songs?)

Still waiting for KJZZ to ditch the "jazz" and do more live and local - everyone I know still calls it "NPR," not "KJZZ" - and play indie-rock, too - they'd swallow up 93.3.

As I've said before I can pick up 92.7 all over the Valley and down I-10 to Pichaco Peak no problem. Haven't tried that with WOW yet.

I can get 95.1 well in most of the valley, and 94.9 is better in the Gilbert area.

When I was in east Gilbert/Mesa, I was able to pick up 95.1 better than 94.9. The spots 94.9 helps with are mainly south Scottsdale and Tempe, where Camelback Mountain blocks 95.1's reception.

Unfortunately, the multipath interference experienced while driving the 51 can't be resolved without a synchronized booster, which would affect reception in other areas.
