Betty White Dead at 99

On New Year's Eve, Betty received her wings. What a terrible way to end 2021. RIP forever and ever, and condolences to all her family, friends, colleagues (including those on Hot in Cleveland), and the rest of the entertainment world.
And just a few weeks before 100. I was hoping and praying that it would come true. But God gained a beautiful soul last night, a funny one, an inspirational and inspiring one. If only we could see the reunion up in the skies with Bea, Rue, and the others.

We love you Betty. We'll miss you forever.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

TVLand pulled the scheduled "Roseanne" reruns today and are airing "Golden Girls" , they're calling it "A Celebration of Betty White". Amazing how well that show has held up after 35 years. Still cracks me up!

OOPS! These will be collectors items.

I've seen a few FB memes which were hilarious, showing the "editors" of these magazines coming to Betty and explaining that they've created these "Betty White Turns 100" editions and they need her to read, approve and sign off on them. The last photo in the meme is Betty sitting there with a somewhat sinister grin on her face, as if she knows something they don't. Considering her comedic gift and timing, and shrewd sense of humor, it really made me laugh.

These are not fake, nor are they memes. I saw the one on the right at my local CVS this afternoon. No, I didn't buy one. I expect them to be pulled in 3... 2... 1...

What an awkward situation for those printed magazines. Am on my way to Von's shortly. Will have to see if they still have them.

To clarify, I never said the magazines are fake or that the photos of the magazines themselves are memes. The FB meme I was referring to in my post above is one that shows the people who were supposedly "editors" of these magazines asking Betty to sign off on them, and it shows Betty sitting there with a grin on her face, as if she knows something they don't. I'd explain why that's funny to many (though maybe a bit dark), but it shouldn't be that difficult.

Apologies if some are unable to understand and appreciate the humor, especially considering Betty White's personality, timing and comedic talent.

Back to the topic at hand. We've lost a national treasure and an amazing woman who was beloved by many. Hopefully she got her wish in the afterlife - to be reunited with her beloved Allen Ludden who she truly and deeply loved.

Why, nothing in the article is wrong. They are celebrating 100 years. She came close enough.
Yeah, considering it was only 17 days away, close enough My grandmother would always add 9 months to a person's age (time spent in the womb) and count that as their true age.

It was sad news. Yesterday while watching something on my DVR I checked my phone during a commercial break. I see there's a new message on Facebook messenger. It was from one of my friends. He sent to the group chat "TMZ reports Betty White died." I responded with "You lying" and a whole bunch of curse words. Then I turn off the DVR and I switch to CNN and see the story. I was like "Holy ****" and I began crying.

I was like 10 when the Grandmother I saw regularly passed away. My other grandmother I didn't get to see as often, so I used to pretend that The Golden Girls were my grandmas.

No word as to whether any of the networks that air Mary Tyler Moore will air a tribute marathon. Ms. White being the 3rd cast member of that show to pass in 2021.

No word as to whether or not ME-TV/ME-TV Plus will air a Mama's Family tribute to Ms. White. Both air the show, ME-TV on Sunday afternoons. ME-TV Plus on weekday mornings.

The TVLAND Sitcom Channel on the Pluto TV Streaming Service was running Hot in Cleveland.

I also bought a copy of People with Ms. White on the cover before leaving work on Thursday.

One important thing is wrong: She will not be alive on her 100th birthday.

NBC's Rose Parade coverage had several mentions of how she hosted years ago and showed pictures of her.

Pete mentioned her in Miley's NBC New Year's Eve show.

I don't think any of the obituaries mentions she hosted a prank show where the pranksters were elderly. It was on NBC to begin with and the theme song was "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister.
