Old Las Vegas Radio:KRGN 102 FM

I am new to this and wanted help. I was a fan of KFM-Stereo 102 automated before and after KRGN. Since someone threw away most of the cassettes I recorded from these stations (back to back recordings) and jingles, I am looking to download/pay for these. Does anyone have any?
Thank you

Tom, my names is Eric and I’m trying to find old KRGN and KFM-Stereo 102 jingles/2 in a row songs) before it went country so 1970-1980. Someone threw out all but a few recorded cassette tapes I made. Do you know who or where I could find/pay for them?
Thank you

Pernod, I’m Eric and looking for any old KRGN and KFM-Stereo 102 (b4 it went country) as I loved the jingles and the back to back announcing (TM/Century 21) to download/pay. I have only a few cassettes that I recorded but someone threw the rest away. Do u know where I can find any? Thank you!

Hi Doug, my name is Eric Endy and I have been messaging Lark Williams (the point fm) and she recommended reaching out to you (so I finally found you). I miss the old old automated KFM- Stereo 102 (b4 country) and KRGN b4 that. Someone at my house threw out all but a couple of the cassettes I recorded with jingles and 2 songs back to back from 1970-1986 I think. After reading and searching there is nothing on the web but I’m sure they were TM/Century 21 productions. Any idea how I can download/record (I’m willing to pay) for them??? Thank you

Hey all... Live hearing all the old stories... Just a correction that KFM flipped from rock to country at midnight Christmas day evening at midnight... And I stayed around till the morning team came in to explain to our AM Country credit that they no longer had a job... But we were taking care of them with a severance package.. I also remember Big Marty coming to me and saying I just don't think I can do Country Doug So I'll have to move on". He went to KOMP, after that and the rest was history for him.

Jay,
Do you have any old recordings of KFM-Stereo 102 when it was automated TM-Stereo Rock? If not any suggestions as I miss hearing the back announced songs.

Looking for a repository for 1970s Las Vegas Airchecks

The last thing before I, well let me put it this way, I have collected on reel to reel, airchecks of KVEG, KTRI, KLUC KUDO and others from the 1970s and transferred the audio of most to DVD without video, and just the history of the newscasts, commercials, and talent are worth saving.

The recordings are not scoped and contain the complete broadcasts.

Should we start a club and swap airchecks?

I should take the risk and Scope one and post it on YouTube.

Any ideas?

Well, I survived my surgery yesterday and a few days prior, I had attempted to upload a 3 hour show to YouTube and they immediately flagged 1 song for copyright and I thought, cool I may just get the chance to share some history and mute 1 song. Nope, the next day almost all the songs were flagged and there was no chance this content would be able to be posted. The show was dated 8/5/75 and consisted of Bob Roberts for 3 hours at KLUC, 1 newscast at 2:15 am and another at 3:20 am. It was still 92 degrees, a little warm that morning when He went outside to play with the dogs. I assume KLUC had moved to west Hacienda at that time. The cool part is that YouTube identified all the titles to the songs as I didn't know what they all were. Selections by Pete Sinfield, The Ship, Loggins & Messina, Jefferson Starship, Spirit, Journey, and The Eric Burdon Band just to name a few.

Does anybody here have any memories of KRGN? I found two rather obscure things about the station on Google. There is actually a KRGN aircheck available from December 28 1969. Their format is described as non-personality automation, a pop nostalgia format called "Hit Parade 69".

There is also an obituary for KRGN PD Dennis William Campbell who died at age 32 in 1972. They actually listed home addresses in obits back then. He lived on Espanita Avenue which is right next to where Boulder Station is today. Does anybody remember Mr. Campbell? I'm sorry to hear he died at such a young age.
I just happened across this site today. I know this is an old post, but I actually worked for KRGN in 1970. I was a university electronics student who had the part time job of programming the commercial sequences and resetting / swapping out the music tapes for the automated system. There was a part time airman who came in nights to cut commercials. I worked with the C.E. one weekend going through all of the Ampex tape decks and recapping them. The station had a full time secretary, and a full time salesman - who I believe also programmed and sold subscriptions to the Musak service that was carried by the KRGN subcarrier. I was greatly impressed as to the quality of the programming that was aired using the automated format.

I don't remember meeting Mr. Campbell.

As time went on, I became a television engineer ... and my brother was the C.E. of KDWN radio.

Wasn't it wild at KRGN the amount of time the preroll ran when transitioning to the next song. I was amazed to see a CBS Audiomax inline to the production recorder. The spot reel to reel would scream to cue up the next commercial spot. Us at 94.1 KLVM's IGM Automation at 307 Water Street in Henderson had Carousel Cart Machines for our spots. KBMI 1400 AM was at the Hacienda Hotel in a Trailer and was all News and automated, they had the random Carousels.

I sure miss "The Best on Record" format of KRGN. It was moved to KVEG and I have an Aircheck on Easter Sunday with "John Midnight". Has the Moog sliding left to right during the IDs.
