True. I recall several years ago someone was decrying the way Vegas was "changing". They were noting that the "big names" who were once well known staples in Vegas weren't playing there anymore, things like the Liberace museum were closing, etc. The person on the other side of the argument had to remind them that time marches on. All the "celebrity impressionists" who were no longer working, had made a living doing impressions of people who few in Vegas' current core clientele would know anymore. Liberace's museum was shuttering and the formerly "big name acts" weren't holding residences there anymore because most of their fans were gone and in Liberace's case, so was he. The last time I saw Rich Little, once known as the "Man of a Thousand Voices" and a staple of late night talk shows, he had a bit part playing Johnny Carson in the made for TV movie about the happenings when Carson retired and the battle between Letterman and Leno ensued. Those 2 guys have since finished out their talk hosing careers and retired years ago. I worked an event in I believe 2000 where Fred Travalena showed up to do his impressions. People no longer 'got him' and a few handfuls walked out mid-show.
