That would explain it, thanks. The conditions the past week were very auroral. That would be one reason why reception on the Icelandic and arctic receivers were non-existent.

It sure does sound auroral. Cubans are coming in quite well tonight in Chicago, including the wobbler on 870.Still sounding auroral tonight, on the Tustin MI and Edinburgh IN SDRs.
Try this: http://207.135.223.250:8073/Is the Edinburgh, IN SDR experiencing issues, or is it a problem from my end? I've been unable to access it for a while now even though it appears on the map. Firefox just says it's "unable to connect". It's always been one of my favorite MW/LW receivers, so it's disappointing to be unable to access it during these winter months.

Thank you! That one worked straight away. Not sure why the link on the KiwiSDR list and map didn't work.
I'm not sure of the reason for that.Thank you! That one worked straight away. Not sure why the link on the KiwiSDR list and map didn't work.
You might consider joining Bob's Facebook group for the SDR. Central Indiana's SDR Station.I've wondered the same thing, as I wanted to use Edinburgh IN when WLW and WABC were off at various times in the past few months...
You're welcome! Same thing happened to me a few months back.Thank you! That one worked straight away. Not sure why the link on the KiwiSDR list and map didn't work.
Thanks! Wouldn't your time still be off with WWV due to internet delay?Exactly a year ago I was in the hospital for 8 days and brought along my laptop. A nurse hooked me up onto their WiFi and I read about the SDR radios on this forum.
Whee!
Imagine being in a cot with tubes and bags of stuff going through you, in Pottsville PA, and listening during lunch to KFQD 750 Anchorage. That was off the Vancouver Island B.C. dial.
I alarmed the nurses a few times by the beeping from my side of the dorm. I explained that I was setting my watch to WWV, a time station from Hawaii (the Kahakuloa SDR). I'm sure they believed me.
The Holland CT / MA dial is a 'car-button' as well. So is the Milford PA dial, Rockport Maine and Key West. I've been essentially an AM-only DXer for decades, and a mostly Domestic one at that.
As Mitch Brewer suggests, 'counting' stations on one log with this new cornucopia is sort of like shooting fish from a barrel, so I have a separate log. It's surprising how many music stations there are on some of those SDR dials.
Best 'catch' so far has been back here at home -- adult-hits KIFW, Sitka Alaska, off that Vancouver Island SDR. It's great, giggly, guilty fun enjoying a GY station from Alaska at noon in Pennsylvania.
Gr8 topic, GR8 Oldies!
Thanks! Wouldn't your time still be off with WWV due to internet delay?
All the time....all the time.Yep. There is definitely internet delay. Bring up a command line window and do a ping or tracert command on the website of interest and it'll show you the travel time.
Back in the day, in 1967, I was in the USAF and stationed in Iran. We had equipment that synced up to WWV via shortwave radio. We had to account for travel time. Even via radio, the travel time was 39 milliseconds from Ft. Collins, CO to Iran.
