Boston's Top Morning Shows

Inside Radio has been doing a series on morning shows by city. Today they released the Boston article. The numbers are 6+ cume:

Surprised not to see WBUR or WGBH among the top morning shows. Although they've had changes recently at WBUR.

Me also, but then again, these are based on cume and not listening shares at all.

Of course, ad buys are not based on cume and 6+ is not observed by anyone "in the business".

Not sure the article is targeting advertisers.
Yet it is in an industry publication where we know that cume can't be monetized and 6+ numbers are worthless. I suspect they do those morning show articles to fill space on slow news days.
What does that mean?
I have no idea either what "based on fine and not listening shares" means. Maybe autocorrect did not understand ratings terms?

Hillman not cracking the top 10, ouch.
Sports shows tend to get the better TSL but not the highest cume. This is a cume based chart, so not really relevant as sports stations have very low female cume and thus are constrained by an "All" gender chart. .

WEEI-FM, using a rolling multi-book average, is 9th overall (5th in men) and mornings is 7th overall based on AQH share.

Ahh, cheers.
My comment was just in that their main competition is listed at #3 and 'EEI doesn't show up.

I call BS

6+ numbers mean nothing, and most of those morning shows are targeting a specific P1, although you could say the sports stations are targeting the same P1, and maybe KISS and WMJX have a bit of overlap, and there might be a little overlap between ZLX and ROR...

Show me who leads in 18 to 34 Males and females and a couple of other P1's, show me a show that captures both males and females in a money demographic and then I'll be all ears.

6+ ( and before PPM 12+) numbers have never carried any real weight which is why many of us call them "Beauty Queen" numbers.... good for bragging rights and not much else.... but most of you knew that already

Which is why I clearly and factually posted that detail before I posted the article. If you choose not to read the article once I've presented that warning, so be it. You have that choice.

6+ numbers don't carry any weight, nor do opinions on Top 10 lists of morning shows. But we present them here for your totally meaningless discussion.

Would you rather be #1 6+ or #13 6+?
Example: for two decades, there was a station in New York City that was always 15th in 12+. It was #1 in billings. It was WFAN. and almost all its audience was in 25-54 men.

Example: for several decades, the #1 station in 12+ in Tampa was about 14th to 16th in billings. It is The Dove, and nearly all its audience was over 55 and nobody bought there.

Can anyone see if Enrique santos has any cume in Boston.
I don't look at cume. But in 18-49, the AMD show on WZRM is 13th. Middays is 11th, PMD is 10th and evenings are 5th. That is based on a 3-month rolling average.

The total station cume is about 170,000 persons 6 AM to Midnight, M-Sun.

Not impressive but i would guess those are the best numbers Boston has seen for a Spanish language station.

Kiss 108 sure has fallen from grace in the cume department in mornings. Granted, Matty (who is of ancient age by CHR/Pop radio standards especially) probably still performs quite well in the areas that actually matter.
